  We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Alex. He's incredibly informative and a great host. We were fortunate to have a wonderful group of nine total. The winery tour (having been on many) was very fun as well. Thank you Alex for a great day.

  I enjoyed this tour very much. We did exactly what was advertised. The hike was of medium intensity, and because of the rocky ground, I do recommend good athletic shoes or hiking shoes. One of my friends wore Keds which would have been completely inadequate, but fortunately the guide had a pair of shoes she could borrow in the van. They picked my friends and me up at our hotel at the appointed time, and the group contained a total of 13 persons divided into 2 vans with 2 guides that acted as our drivers. The first stop was a snack bar at Mt Etna for the restroom and to buy water (they really should include a bottle of water with the tour). We then saw a lava tube which was cool. Next we drove to the start of the hike. We hiked for maybe 1-1/2 to 2 hours with frequent stops for the guides to explain about the geology of volcanos and Mt Etna in particular. After the hike we went to the winery where we had a chance to sample 3 white and 2 red wines. We also received a 4 course meal beginning with an appetizer of cheese, meat, and caponata, then gazpacho soup, then the main dish of sausage with spinach and potatoes, and ending with cannoli. The wine was good and the food was excellent, and my friends and I were all so full afterwards, we slept during most of the drive back to town where they dropped us off at our hotel. If in Taormina, you have to see Mt Etna, and this tour was a very good way to do so.

  Alex was a great guide to our first excursion on Etna. He was super polite, funny, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about Etna. The tour was well balanced between the informative and historical elements and the fun outdoor hiking. He answered all manner of questions beyond Etna and organized some fun photo shoots for us along the way. The wine tasting was at Gambino Winery and was also a great end to the day. There was no rush at this tasting as we got to unwind, learn about this regions's wine, and have a great chat with each other. The tasting included 4 small plates that were very much appreciated alongside some delicious Etna wine. Thank you again Alex!

  Alex was fantastic. Gave us a wealth of knowledge about Volcanoes and his passion and positivity made us feel so good about the tour from the start. The second half which was the wine tour was equally fun. Filled with great hospitality and wonderful sampling of wines.

  An absolutely enjoyable day exploring and learning about Etna and volcanoes. Our tour guide Alex made this the perfect day - going above and beyond in educating our group and providing a great energy in guiding us up and down the mountain. Finishing off with a lovely lunch and wine tasting experience at Gambino wines and a fun drive back to our hotel with Alex. Would highly recommend this to anyone travelling around Sicily.
