Our guide Max was the most unenthusiastic, monotonous guide I have ever had. Our guide made a 1.5 hour tour, feel like 3 hours I did the tour with my family of 6. We were checking the time every five minutes, wondering when the tour was going to end. His explanations often only went as far as; "this is ... Church, built in the 17th century." We learnt minimal about the development and changes to the city of Lecce throughout the Centuries, nothing about modern day culture in Lecce, nothing about nightlife or even the way of life in Lecce. I can't even tell you the population of Lecce. Usually guides will introduce themselves and a bit about their history of work, where they grew up, their passions etc. before the tour starts... not Max. We didn't even get an overview of what the tour would cover, or an overview of the city of Lecce itself. It was one of those tours where they give you a headset and the guide has a microphone. Max kept walking on and wouldn't wait for the back markers to catch up before giving his brief explanation of what is in front of him. The group was small, only 15 or so. If he projected his voice and spoke with enough enthusiasm he wouldn't need the mic at all. When comparing Max to other guides I've had - guides who managed 30 people with no mic for three hours and held our attention the entire time - Max fell far short. We were left wondering what we paid for. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

We did a guided tour with Gigi in Lecce. It was a wonderful experience and we were really sorry to have to leave early. Gigi is an amazing guide; she has a great sense of humor and explains things exceptionally. This is our first visit to Lecce, but we will always remember this beautiful city thanks to its introduction. Thank you so much! It's also very, very funny.
