Our guide Nicolo was great. Weather was rainy but he brought a smile and fun to our walking tour. We liked the hidden part of Venice which takes you away from the madness of the crowds.

Nico was a fantastic guide. His knowledge and passion for sharing the history of Venice makes this tour a wonderful experience. We only had a few hours to spend in Venice so it was nice to see the smaller, quieter, streets full of history and beyond the typical tourist points of interest.

It was a part of Venice I never would have gone to on my own, away from the noise and tourist areas around St. Mark’s. The tour guide was excellent.

Nico was an excellent guide — personable, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. The tour was interactive and felt personal, and it was clear how deeply he loves Venice and its history. Along the way we even passed his elementary school and Alice’s (who was in training) high school, which added a wonderful local touch. The tour covered a wide range of topics, from how the city actually functions — water supply, transportation, and daily life — to the history of the ghetto in the 1400s and even mafia activity from about 40 years ago. It was thoughtful, informative, and full of insights you won’t find at the Doge’s Palace, but instead answers the questions you naturally have while wandering the city. After the tour, Nico was generous with recommendations and guidance. He’s a fantastic representative of Venice — pragmatic, honest, and passionate about what needs to happen to preserve the city and keep it alive for the future. Highly recommend.

Two hours to learn of Venice from someone raised here, to learn of their city, their neighborhood, a bit of its history, and much of its character. This tour, even in the rain, was a pleasure.
