Perfect Amalfi coast day trip with an Outstanding guide

5.00All-Day Tour of Positano, Amalfi Coast, and Ravello – Monday, May 4 (Guide: Sergio) This was an excellent tour and an outstanding experience from start to finish. Our guide, Sergio, was fantastic, and the itinerary was perfectly planned. The tour included comfortable bus transportation combined with a scenic boat ride along the Amalfi Coast and a boat tour in Amalfi, which added a wonderful perspective of the coastline. Lunch was in Amalfi at La Taverna di Masaniello, and it was absolutely excellent. The restaurant has been family-owned for three or four generations, and we followed the owner’s recommendations for local specialties. I ordered the whole sea bass with lemon and olive oil. It arrived as a full fish, and the staff expertly deboned and de-skinned it tableside. The fish was incredibly fresh—light, white, and flaky. While there were still a few small bones (as expected with fresh fish), it didn’t detract at all from the experience. It was delicious and authentic. My husband ordered the lemon and shrimp ravioli with a lemon cream sauce, which was also outstanding. We each enjoyed a glass of the house white wine, and everything—from the food to the service—was excellent. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you’re in Amalfi—10/10. From Amalfi, we drove up to Ravello, a charming and quaint mountain town. We enjoyed a quick espresso at a café and visited a local painting and ceramic shop, where we purchased beautiful hand-painted ceramics from a local female business owner. The owner and her daughter (or assistant) spoke excellent English, processed the transaction quickly, and completed all shipping paperwork efficiently before we had to leave. After Ravello, we completed the roughly one-hour bus ride back to Sorrento. Overall, this was a really great day with the perfect amount of time in each destination. I would 100% recommend this tour for anyone looking to see all the Amalfi Coast highlights without the stress of coordinating boat schedules, transportation, or waiting in long tourist lines. Everything was organized seamlessly, including boat tickets, and we never had to wait in line. A fantastic way to experience the coast.

3.00This was a nice scenic trip to the Amalfi coast with a start/end location in Sorento. Unfortunately our tour guide was not the best. He seemed to have good commentary on the bus ride to Positano and between towns but was difficult to hear and understand. During the tour of Positano, his radio battery ran out so we were not able to use the provided headsets. The final straw was the ‘out of the way’ restaurant he guided us to in Amalfi where the food was mediocre and quite expensive. There was no little to no commentary in Amalfi or Ravello..

5.00Our trip to Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello was exceptionally well organized and truly enjoyable from start to finish. In each location, we had more than enough time to explore the local attractions, enjoy some shopping, taste the delicious local cuisine, and take relaxing walks while soaking in the breathtaking views. The journey itself was very well planned, combining both minibus and ferry transportation, which made the experience even more memorable and comfortable. The driver was highly attentive and experienced, ensuring a smooth and safe trip throughout. Our guide played a key role in making the day special – creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere while also sharing a wealth of interesting and useful information along the way. Overall, it was a perfectly balanced excursion, combining organization, comfort, and unforgettable scenery. Highly recommended!

5.00Claude from Sorrentomaxitours was an exceptional guide, with his calm and safe driving, informative and interesting facts, references to mythology and storytelling. We had a fabulous day with regular stops, time to explore and suggestions for additional activities from Claude. Claude is experienced and easy going, was punctual and followed through on everything promised and more.

5.00A very well organised trip great small coach clean and air conditioned and a really excellent driver.... Patrick or guide was fantastic very knowledgeable and a good sense of humour chatted to us all the way... Our first stop in Positano was beautiful, we were guided down hill by Patrick and got free time to wander and get coffee...on to Amalfi by ferry where again Patrick guided us safely through traffic to St Andrews church... then free to wander & lunch...before we paid the optional €15 per head for the boat trip around the coast , which is well worth the extra ! There we picked up the coach again and our lovely driver to head to Ravello , these roads are challenging but views are amazing and Patrick pointed out many places of interest and history .... Ravello is stunning ! Onwards again high up in hills with our excellent driver and Patrick pointing out great photo opertunities along the way back to Sorrento... This was a wonderful full day trip and great value ...brilliant

5.00Very enjoyable tour of the Amalfi coast. Our guide Mario was excellent. Knowledgeable with good English commentary. The extra boat trip (15 euros) from Amalfi was nice but not great. A little rushed at times but necessary to get everything in. Expect crowded venues…. Just like everywhere else.
