What To Expect
Receive a unique experience in our winery Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of wine with a guided tour of our facilities. We will take you through the history and secrets of our winery, explaining every step of the production process, from harvesting the grapes to creating our exclusive wines. During the tour, you will discover the oak barrels where our wines mature and know the traditional techniques we use to offer products of the highest quality. At the end of the tour, you will enjoy an exclusive tasting of our wines from the family reserve and reserve line, accompanied by a gastronomic experience designed for this. 5.00I had a private wine tasting at this lovely winery Castillo Viejo Catamayor. Christian who led the tour around the winery is a very knowledgeable and lovely person who showed me al the aspects to make a good wine in the environment of Uruguay. The wines accompanied by nice jacuterie made the experience excellent

5.00We were picked up on time by our driver from the Hyatt Centric, Montevideo on time. We arrived at the Winery to be greeted by Christian, and had a really good, personal Tour with tasting. Christian really went above and beyond - we were the only 2 people on the tour and he had stayed behind on a Saturday afternoon specially for us. Delivered back safely by our driver to the Hotel Outstanding.

5.00It is an older and smaller farm but well worth the visit. It is about an hour's drive from Montevideo, so I do recommend a tour with transport included or contact the Bodega directly to arrange a return transfer for you (US$ 60 return for the car) - safer and more organized. The farm sommelier does the tour and the wine tasting - he was very informative (and spoke English). The lunch was in a really nice "cellar/events venue" and consisted of good wine and some tapas-style snacks, not lunch per se. I would definitely recommend this excursion.

5.00Excellent experience! My friend an I went on a rainy day which was fortunate for us because we were the only two people scheduled for that time. Our host was incredible! He explained the history of the vineyard and the various grapes. I highly recommend this tour. Did I mention that their wines are excellent?

5.00It is a very old winery and it shows. Don't expect the glitz and glamour of the big newer wineries that were built to attract visitors. However, what is does have is tremendous heart. I had the entire place to myself and the full attention of the sommelier. I received a tour of the facility and got very generous pours of 5 wines with dome great food including bread, charcuterie and croquettes. I could not come close to finishing it but it was very good. Overall, I really enjoyed myself. It would have been nice if there were a few other customers to talk to but overall it was fine. Keep in mind you will spend about $60 in transportation to and from.
