  I flew into Terminal 2 of Sofia Airport mid-March 2026. As soon as I landed, I went and waited by the 3 big flags as described in the email from Top-Rent-a-Car. After about 10 mins waiting, a minibus arrived. They took me round to the head office, which is about a 5 min drive. No fuss, no hassle, fantastic.

  The quality of budget-friendly cars is decent, service is good, crew is friendly and willing to help. Important reminder to always take pictures of the car's interior and exterior. I received a car with two wet stains on the backseats. While signing documents during the pickup, it was quickly scrolled to the signature, and they told me that the car was ready. When dropping off, the employee told me that there are two wet stains and they cannot give me back my deposit of €120. I showed the pictures and the date when they were taken, they accepted the fact, and the deposit was reversed into my card. Without photos taken, I couldn't prove that these stains were there previously. Felt like an intentional move rather than a misunderstanding.

  The experience of renting a car from this service has always been the best which is why I am return customer. Even in a relatively emergency situation, Toprentacar's employees were professional, kind and efficient beyond my expectations.   Rented a car twice and the service has been excellent! The staff are very friendly and helpful, Kostadin, Radoslav and everyone at the front desk. I look forward to renting again.

  Very pleasant and easy to drive. I recommend it to everyone, who has to move. The bus is not too big, so it shouldn't be a huge adjustment if you are a good and experienced driver :)

• Hire of VW Golf near Sofia Airport

  Hired a VW Golf online for 4 days. The car I got was a VW Golf but the condition was very poor compared to previous rentals with competitors online in Bulgaria. Originally booked direct but then cancelled as I had to make a change. Re-booked much cheaper through Carjet. The vehicle brakes made a strange noise as if there were no brake pads which was worrying as I had to drive to Plovdiv, the bodywork was in poor condition with lots of dents and scratches but these were highlighted in the check out, I think the hire company was more interested in sticking the company marketing stickers all over the car - there were paint marks from earlier rentals - generally very disappointed with the experience - I hire cars throughout the world and know what a good experience is - these guys near Sofia Airport could do with more education on what and how to hire cars out and standards expected. Sorry to be blunt but that was the experience. The returning of the car was a good experience at Plovdiv Airport as the customer service was first class.

  I rented a car for a week. It was brand new. I was the first driver. The service was great, everything was explained and there was no issue with taking and returning. Staff was nice and helpful. They even provide discounts on almost all gas stations. Will use again.
