Explore and photograph fjords, wild landscapes & mountain lakes in an extra small group of six likeminded travellers!

On board a 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser Arctic Truck, Nico your guide will take you to the best photo spots outside of Tromsø.

Our main playground will be Kvaløya island (Norway's 5th largest one), but there's no fixed itinerary, as depending on weather conditions we will visit different spots to get pictures with different backgrounds and different light situations. If lucky enough we might even spot some wildlife like reindeer, moose, sea eagles, sea otters and seals!

You will also learn tricks and tips in the field and have an outdoor picnic (warm expedition soup, cookies and hot drinks). Hand and foot warmers available, as well as ice cleats when needed, and professional camera tripods should you want to do some long exposures!

With 8 years of experience in guiding tours in Tromsø region, Nico your guide knows all the most photogenic spots like the back of his hands!

This tour is not suitable for elderly participants, people with any injury, sickness, movement disability, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches.

This tour operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately. Make sure you wear warm and water resistant clothes and have an extra layer with you and shoes/boots that are suitable for winter and snow.

You must be in good physical shape to do short walks on uneven terrain that can be snowy, icy, wet and slippery

The vehicle used to get to the photo locations is a lifted 4x4 off road truck with normal car seats, not a spacious van nor a minibus. Unfortunately, larger sized / very tall guests will not fit comfortably in it. The drives between the various spots are not too long (20 to 30 minutes each), but adequate comfort must be guaranteed to every participant on tour. Please get in touch before booking if in doubt!

If you are travelling with kids younger than 13 or shorter than 150 cm, please enquire for a private tour option.

What To Expect

Tromso Fjords

At the beginning of the tour, your guide will analyze the weather forecasts in order to predict the best area where to conduct the tour. We will then set off aboard a 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser Arctic Truck for a scenic drive along the fjords and valleys on the surrounding islands near Tromsø, like Kvaløya island. Your guide will take you to the most scenic locations to admire unforgettable views and getting some great photos, as well as providing assistance for your photography. We will also enjoy a warm picnic before heading back to Tromsø.

First of all, Nicola is a fantastic guide. This tour, in addition to offering the opportunity to see dream places, is unmissable for many reasons, including the small number of people (maximum 6) and the disruptive energy of Nicola, who in addition to being a great photographer (you will have dream portraits) is a great person. Nicola is super organized regarding the trip itself and also very knowledgeable in telling you about the fjords and wonders of the Norwegian landscape. I highly recommend it!

Excellent day, beautiful scenery, perfect tour guide. Exceptional tour by Nico of the Fjords. I wanted to celebrate a milestone birthday celebration with a photo of the beautiful fjords of Norway and Nico's choice of views and backdrop were the best! He showcased beautiful falls, fjords that captures winter wonderland and unforgettable photos that I will treasure forever, with my sister and husband on this wonderful Norway trip. This was my third trip with Nico. My group visited the island of Senja for a five day photo tour trip. The incredible autumnal colours were an absolute treat for a photographer and nature lovers with exceptional beauty around every corner, it just blew me away time and time again. The weather was rather challenging at times but Nico ensured we made the absolute most of every moment. His perseverance and experience paying off more than once allowing us to see incredible Northern Lights despite the difficult conditions! Nico is an exceptional and passionate guide who is both knowledgable and an excellent teacher. I cannot recommend Nico’s tours highly enough! I am already planning the next trip!!

Our day hike in Tromsø was absolutely awesome, thanks to our amazing guide! We hiked through jaw-dropping mountains and fjords under clear blue skies, and the views were straight out of a postcard. Nico snapped some incredible photos that totally captured the beauty of the day—seriously, they’re Instagram gold! On the drive, we had such great chats about all sorts of stuff, from local history to random fun topics, which made the whole experience feel so relaxed and personal. This guy’s passion and chill vibe made the day unforgettable. Highly recommend him for anyone wanting a fantastic adventure in Tromsø!

I joined Nico on a 5 day Photo Tour to Senja, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Even in the worst rainy conditions, he manages to find beautiful hidden gems to enjoy and photograph. His knowledge of the area and his photography skills are extensive! Our days were full of adventure and we managed to find the Northern Lights even in the most difficult weather conditions. The whole week was such a fantastic experience and I cannot recommend Nico enough as a guide, photographer and also as a fun and kind person to hang out with!
