Do you like getting to view points by foot and enjoy the scenery from above?
This tour will take you into the Arctic wonders, for an unforgettable experience!
Using a 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser, we will reach some of the most beautiful areas that Tromsø region has to offer.
Based on weather conditions your guide will choose a safe and fun trail around Kvaløya island or over the mainland out of Tromsø. Vistas are guaranteed no matter which way we'll go!
We will then venture for a scenic easy hike, reaching untouched landscapes, mountain lakes and breathtaking views.
When snow covers the ground, you will be provided with ice crampons or snowshoes, walking poles and foot+hand warmers. Remember to have your own waterproof hiking boots.
Your guide will take photos of you and the landscape, but if you have a camera as well, do bring it along!
An outdoor picnic with a view made of warm soup, cookies and hot drinks will warm us up while out in the wild Arctic, before heading back to Tromsø.

This tour is not suitable for elderly participants, people with any injury, sickness, movement disability, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches. It is an active tour.
You must be in good physical shape to walk at least 500-1000 meters on uneven terrain that will be snowy, icy, wet and slippery
This tour operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately. Make sure you wear warm and water resistant clothes and have an extra layer with you and shoes/boots that are suitable for winter hiking and snow.
If you are travelling with kids younger than 13 or shorter than 150 cm, please enquire for a private tour option.

What To Expect
Tromso Fjords
At the beginning of the tour, your guide will analyze the weather forecasts in order to predict the best area for this outdoor activity. We will then set off aboard our capable 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser for a scenic drive along the fjords and valleys on the surrounding islands near Tromsø. Once there, depending on the weather and terrain conditions, you will be provided with the necessary equipment to go for a walk or a light hike in order to get to the most scenic locations, admire unforgettable views, get some great photos as souvenir and enjoy a warm lunch before heading back to Tromsø.

5.00Today I had the pleasure of taking a snowshoe hike in a really great place, accompanied by a guide (Nicola) competent and helpful. The snowy landscape was simply magical and the silence that surrounded us today, is now something rare! Nicola has been able to convey his passion for nature and made us discover interesting details about the area. The delicious lunch, with a breathtaking view, gave us the right energy to continue the adventure! A truly unique and different experience that I recommend to everyone!

5.00We had a great experience! For our first hiking trip in Tromsø, Nicola was the perfect guide. He took us to the beautiful island of Kvaløya, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. The weather was wonderful, with clear skies and warm temperatures, which made the experience even more enjoyable. He also took some amazing pictures of us! I highly recommend this tour for all kinds of travelers. It’s a fantastic way to explore the Arctic nature and enjoy an unforgettable day outdoors.

5.00This is the second time Nicola has been called upon , last year for the Northern Lights and this year for a snowshoe hike . The big advantage is that we are in a small group of 6 people max!! If like me you can’t bear to be in a big group of tourists , then this option is the best. Also Nicola is very nice , he makes crazy pictures that you will then receive by email . We receive food , hot chocolate cakes ... frankly it is 5 stars , I highly recommend 😁

5.00The trip exceeded our expectations. In fact, it didn't feel like an organized tour with an agency, but more like a trip with a family friend Nico. Everything was perfectly organized and all of that was enhanced by the absolutely amazing weather, views and of course the choice of location. We will probably become regular guests.

5.00The artcic landscape tour was truly magical. We saw a true winter wonderland through amazing snow-filled landscapes, which we wouldn’t be able to see if it wasn’t for this tour. We also got high resolution photos for gatekeeping. Highly recommended.

5.00We had a wonderful hike with Nico! Since he only does small group tours he was perfect for us. We would choose him over any other tour guides. Of course, small group tours are higher in costs, but it’s worth every penny. You can enjoy nature in your own time and are not rushed in any way. He is into the small details and would stop in the middle of the road to let us enjoy a beautiful view or let us see the reindeers up close when they crossed our way. He is such a nice guy and we all got along so well. We can only recommend his tours when you are in Tromsø if you look for something special!

The arctic landscape in winter is beautiful and it was really nice not having to worry about driving or finding a good hiking spot. He took care of everything. We enjoyed our time with him and he provided pictures for us after the tour.

5.00I had an "arctic landscape hiking" experience with Nicola (aka Arctic Photo Guide) on the 1st of April. It was an amazing experience! We went to Sommaroy, we walked on the rocks and we had the possibility to see some truly amazing landscapes. Nicola is really passionate about his job and this makes him a very good guide. Truly recommended.
