Come with us for our Express Aurora Hunt and have a guaranteed early return to Tromsø city centre. Leave the city lights behind and travel into the Arctic wilderness. During this activity, our small team of Aurora guides check the forecasts and uses local knowledge to decide on the best place to chase the Northern Lights within an hour's drive from town. On this activity, we will travel wherever looks safest and with the best chances of seeing the Northern Lights within 1 hr of Tromsø city centre. Once we arrive at the best location, we will be waiting for the show to begin. In the meantime, our guides will tell you stories about the North and the science behind the Aurora. We'll have you back to the city centre by midnight, so you can be well rested the next morning.

Participants must be over 4 years old - we can accept younger children, however parents must bring car seat, thermal clothing and meal, and office must be informed
Not recommended for travellers unable to walk on uneven or icy terrain.

5.00You always need a bit of luck to see the Aurora. Fortunately, our guide Bart was excellent at finding a great open spot where the clouds cleared, allowing us to enjoy the Northern Lights for over an hour. It started small but gradually grew more intense and spectacular. We even saw shooting stars. Bart also took beautiful photos and created a great atmosphere with our small group by sharing interesting facts about the Aurora, along with hot drinks and cookies. Highly recommended, just go for it!

5.00Highly recommend this tour with Wandering Owl. Conditions were not good for a Northern Lights hunt, and the fact we were on a cruise ship and the captain advised us to be back earlier than originally posted created even more issues for us. Thankfully Wandering Owl worked with us and collected us from the port and returned with time to spare. Conditions were not optimal, the expensive ship excursion did not sight the lights, but our experienced guide, Ellie took us further away and to a great viewing area where Aurora made her appearance!! Well done Ellie and thanks again for a spectacular evening.

5.00We took the short four hours tours and so glad we did that. On our second stop we were able to view the Northern Lights (Aurora). I must say that our guide Ellie did an awesome job! She has a 100% success rate and hope she maintains it. Also, the tea, hot cocoa and cookies were delicious.
They didn’t show up.

5.00I went on a trip with Anna, and it was amazing. The weather was tricky, but Anna took the time to figure out where would be the best to go, and it worked out super fine. We managed to find a nice beach area where we had clear sky and northern lights! She was good at explaining everything behind the northern lights and about the area. It was a look of work for her as she was guiding us and driving us with icy road, but she was amazing in everything. I recommend her!

5.00Aneta brought us to chase the light at two spots, we got extremely lucky and saw the green lady after camping for half an hour. She got us tea and cookies and we are really glad she offered us due to the cold weather! Really professional and we are very happy.
