Take a walk on the wild side of Tromsø on this small-group outdoor hiking tour and explore the Arctic nature on foot. You'll be taken to the countryside of Tromsø in the middle of beautiful mountains, fjords and valleys, where you and your group will snowshoe up a small mountain or along a valley with a guide. On the tour we will be using snowshoes, which makes it easier and a lot of fun to walk on the snow.
In the autumn months (October and November), you'll get to enjoy the colourful countryside before it is covered with a thick layer of snow. When there is not much snow, the tour is a hiking tour without snowshoes.

Chris and Max did an excellent job of taking care of us. They were informative and attentive thought out this tour. Wandering Owl also was excellent with communication leading up to this trip to make sure we were prepared for the weather. The temps were cold, but the hospitality was very warm! Would recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the natural beauty of Norway!

Mia and Ellie took us on a beautiful snowshoe hike on Christmas Day, and we were really fortunate to have them spending their Christmas showing us the beautiful mountains of Norway. It’s obvious they love it here, as they guided everyone how to fit and walk in snowshoes. In addition, it was some strange weather while we were in town, but they were able to find us a great location to actually snowshoe with great views and wind sheltered. Ellie did a great job giving us lots of nature facts including horse hoof fungus growing in trees and the polar stratospheric clouds we were fortunate enough to see. While Mia told us of all the fun winter activities in the area there are to do during the polar night. She also gave us some great hiking recommendations for the next day. Overall, great trip! Advice for snowshoeing. Dress warm with lots of layers you can remove easily, once you start moving you can take the layers off. It’s plenty of action to keep you warm! The chai tea is awesome Also, we did a few activities with wandering owl. They all have you meeting in front of the scandic hotel, along with all theorized tour operators so just be patient even though it seems a bit chaotic. We really enjoyed the trip and thanks again for the wonderful Christmas memories!
