This is not your ordinary waterfall as you need to walk a lot and climb too cause the path to the waterfall was quite steep and slippery. But It is One of the best waterfall around the Java island, Beautiful and Majestic waterfall. It's was breathtaking. One adventure at an impressive waterfall. The tour was combined with two waterfalls Tumpak Sewu and Kapas Biru located in Pronojiwo Lumajang drive around 2.30h. It is waterfall look like Niagara van java. Unique and Amazing. Suitable for beginner adventure. Best place to get both of waterfall is start from Malang.

What To Expect

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall

The driver will pick you up at Hotel in Malang at 05 - 06am and driving to Tumpak sewu, It is takes about 2,45 minute depending on traffic conditions. From parking area you can walking around 400 meter to find spot panorama of waterfall and you can going down to base of waterfall takes more or less 1 hour. Take your time to observe the view.

Going back to the car, next drive 15 minute go to Kapas Biru waterfall. From parking area, you can walking around 1 hours to Kapas Biru. Take your time and feel the atmosphere. And driver will ready to drive back to Malang.

Remote waterfalls with epic hikes

We were picked up from our hotel in downtown Malang right on time, with a message from the driver the night before to confirm pick up time and location. The drive was smooth in a nice van with air conditioning and the driver was willing to stop whenever we needed for food or drink or washroom breaks. When we arrived at Tumpak Sewu, he pointed us in the right direction and we were on our way to the panoramic waterfall view. The walk there is paved and very easy, but from there, the trail becomes more difficult and requires relatively high fitness levels and the ability to climb down a stream with a rope. Don't try and keep your shoes dry, you will be crossing rivers and might as well just succumb to having wet feet, it will be safer that way. After we hiked back up, we were given time to get food and water before making the 15-minute drive to Kabut Pelangi waterfall. This hike was easier, but not as popular, so we had to go through some bush and across a river 3 times, but the waterfall is so worth it at the end. The only drawback to this whole tour was the traffic we encountered on the way back to Malang, but there really isn't anything that could have been done about it, since it was a Friday afternoon and it seemed everyone wanted to be back in Malang at the same time. If you want a private, unique waterfall experience, and are physically fit, I would highly recommend this tour to you.
