You will learn about traditional ebru art and about the materials. I will teach you about the traditional designs in marbling as well as techniques: stone, back and forth, comb design and flowers... tulip, carnation. You can take your painting home with you once dry.

What To Expect
Process You can make your own art masterpieces in 2 hours . All materials will be provided for the class. Our classes are private. You can come alone or organize a workshop with your family and friends. You will learn about Ebru art and about the materials. I will teach you about the traditional designs in marbling as well as techniques: stone, back and forth, comb design, and flowers --tulip, hyacinth, carnation. You can take your painting home with you once dry.

5.00This was so much fun. Betel is a master ebru and tile artist. She was so knowledgeable and kind. She spent a lot of time teaching me and my 6yo daughter the different techniques and guiding us as we made our own Ebru marbling art. The studio is also in a beautiful location. Such a fantastic activity and you come away with a unique, self-made souvenir. My daughter absolutely loved every second and was so proud of what she made!

5.00We had a lovely afternoon painting with guidance from the lovely, talented, Betul. Betul is a gifted art teacher and a gracious host. She and her husband welcomed us into their beautiful studio with kindness. They are both deeply trained and knowledgable in the Turkish arts. We had so much fun marbling paper and making art. Plus, you get to spend time with a Turkish art studio - a great way to feel what life can be like in Turkey. We highly recommend doing this.

5.00This was hands-down our favorite experience in Istanbul! Betül - the artist - was so kind, patient, hospitable and her art studio has stunning views. We are a hard crowd to please - one artist, one non-artist and a 6 year old and we ALL had so much fun and really enjoyed this Ebru art workshop. 10/10 recommend for artists, non-artists and kids!!!

5.00Wonderful morning spent with this husband and wife team who educated us on marbling art technique and history. They were perfect with my children aged 7 and 9 showing the right balance between fun, encouragement, support and patience. We could not have asked for more and walked away with some wonderful designs to display at home, and many happy memories. The best experience we have had in Istanbul.

5.00It's no wonder that the only rating they get is 5 stars. I did not know what to expect, and sat there smiling for over 2,5 hours. Ali is both a pleasure to be with and talk, as well as a great teacher. It was so fun, you feel you get better for each sheet. Bring a girlfriend, your family or just yourself like me. Best thing I've ever tried. Made the rest of my vacation great just looking back at it and being energized. Thank you so much Ali!

5.00My children (10 and 7- it was her birthday) and I did ebru painting with Betül and her husband Ali. It was a wonderful experience for all of us! A highlight of our trip to Türkiye. Ali and Betül have tons of patience and are very encouraging. My children were engaged and are very proud of the pieces they made. I’m very impressed with the results. I know this is one of the memories they will hold on to from this trip. My children told me this was a nice break from the “very old rocks” they’ve been looking at for weeks :D We’ll work on their appreciate for Turkish history, meanwhile they have earned an appreciation for Türkish art for which I give credit to Betül and Ali. I highly recommend this experience. Teşekkür ederim.

5.00Great experience. I highly recommend to anyone on the fence. They show you the basics then you get to take over. There is no talent required. Your art will still be refrigerator worthy with their guidance. Very patient and amusing instruction and good hibiscus tea!

5.00What a great experience! Highlight of our trip! We booked the Turkish Marbling class and it was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Our kids (4 and 6) loved learning how to make the designs and Betul and her husband were so helpful and kind with them. We each learned how to make 4 to 5 different design techniques, each unique! Best of all, you get to take your art home!
