What To Expect
In this experience, we will hike to the top of the TWO BROTHER's HILL, to check one of the most stunning viewpoints of the city. Located in the south coast of Rio, between the neightbourhoods of Leblon and São Conrado, the Two Brother's Hill is part of the iconic landscape of Ipanema beach. We will meet in front of the Sheraton Hotel and walk together to the Vidigal neighbourhood, from where we will take a mototaxi - driven by locals to the "Vila Olímpica do Vidigal" where our hike begins. The trail is 1.5km long and is considered moderate. Presenting some steep stretches, we will hike on constant uphill for 70 minutes to reach the top of the "big brother" mountain that has 550m altitude. Once in the peak we'll take time to relax, enjoy the view, take in the beauty and relax. I will explain some stories of Rio, the curiosities of the Vidigal and Rocinha comunities and share the knowledge of our beautiful forest. Then we will hike down for 60 min and finish our experience having a delicious açaí bowl, a cold coconut or a local beer in the Leblon Viewpoint. IMPORTANT: The cost of mototaxi and the fee to enter the comunity is NOT included
What‘s Included
BRL 20,00 per guest. Is the cost of the mototaxi (round trip) driven by the locals, that we have to take to reach the entrance of the trail. This transport is managed by the Vidigal community

5.00My friends randomly decided to go for a hike during our stay in Rio. I decided to join but spent the whole time extremely nervous, I'm not physically active, have asthma and forgot my pump, and have some fear of heights. Alessandra was super accommodating our entire time. She gave tips on how to best exert my energy, was very generous with our breaks while also giving us some great historical context on Rio and communities in general. By the time we reached the top I was exhausted and tired, but felt amazing having accomplished this feat. Even up top Alessandras motivating demeanor convinced me to join the group closer to the summit where you can best take pictures. I was scared the whole time, but honestly she made me feel very safe and worked within my boundaries. I really enjoyed the entire experience, if I were to come back to Rio I would definitely want to experience another hiking trail with Alessandra! Adding to this she's an excellent photographer and took pictures the entire time we were going up!

5.00We were excited to do a hike in Rio, as Alessandra hype it up so much... And it was for a reason! The sunset from dois Irmãos was one of the best views I've ever had. The moto-taxi through the favela, all the pictures she helps to take and her humor makes this trip a memorable one !! Really recommended!

Alessandra is proficient in English and Spanish, which explains every curious detail about the location history and local fauna & Flora, a part from being a typical "carioca" so it was perfect to sense of the cultural aspects if the city as well. 5.00Robinson was such a great tour guide, we met at 7am and got the motor taxis up to the start of the trail (very glad we went with a guide, felt safe with him!) During the walk Robinson spotted lots of monkeys and also offered to take photos and videos. He’s from the area so very knowledgeable and good company. As we went early we basically had the whole mountain to ourselves, would recommend going at that time! It’s worth clarifying with the organiser if the motor taxi and entrance etc is included before you book, so you know to have cash or not.
