What To Expect
Get ready for an unforgettable whale watching adventure in Oceanside! Our crew will greet you at the ticket kiosk next to the Lighthouse in Oceanside Harbor and escort you to our 50-ft luxury catamaran—built for smooth cruising and panoramic views. Please arrive at least 45 minutes early (60 on holidays) with your full group. Oceanside Harbor gets busy, especially on weekends, and we can’t wait for late arrivals. No refunds or reschedules are offered if you miss the boat. Led by a certified marine naturalist Captain, your tour includes live narration as we explore the coast. Most trips spot dolphins and sea lions, and whale sightings vary by season, with gray, blue, humpback, and fin whales seen at different times of the year. Enjoy snacks, soft drinks, beer, wine, and cocktails from our cash bar. No outside alcohol or coolers allowed. Dress in layers—it’s cooler on the water. Questions? Give us a call!

5.00The NALA was new and was very clean. I was told there were 27 people with tickets, less than half of what was a full complement and it was not crowded. It was easy to stay out of the wind and sun and still have a good view. The inside portion had flexible plastic windows so the only crisp views were outside of that area. The crew was friendly. We saw a pod of dolphins twice and one fin whale. Guests are not allowed on the top deck so you don’t get a top down view of the whales, only at sea level. Two hours is great if you see a whale. I think 3 hours might be better if we hadn’t, although we stayed out an extra half hour to find the whale we did. They gave us all a little free fin whale sticker at the end of the trip which was a fun touch. The bathroom worked and was clean. We didn’t purchase food or drinks.

5.00Experience was fun, crew was great. We didn’t see whales, but there was a huge pod of dolphins with their calf’s. All in all I recommend going, it was fun being out on the open ocean too.

3.00Perhaps we were a bit spoiled after a few very successful whale watching tours in other areas, but this tour seemed a bit commercial to us. The boat itself is quite new and comfortable and it wasn't crowded on board either. A course was immediately set for an area where many dolphins had been spotted earlier that day. There were indeed a huge number of dolphins there, but I did not feel that there was any effort to find whales afterwards.
