Had a really disappointing week with Low Key Watersports. Four of us came to St. John for 10 days to scuba dive. We went into the store and purchased 8-tank dive packages through Jay. We told him we wanted to dive every other day starting the next day. He booked us for the first 2 days and said to hold off on the others to see if other dives like the MS Rhone ended up being offered. We dove the first 2 days with divemasters who jumped in the water and took off. During parts of the dive no one in the group even new where they were and it was hard to see due to lower visibility than usual. They definitely were not focused on the safety of the divers and only once in 4 dives did any of them check our remaining air supplies. After the first 2 days of diving we tried to book our remaining 2 days and were told they were full until Saturday so they refunded our money. They did not refer us to another dive operator so we searched online and ended up diving with Aqua Action on St. Thomas. They were great and we recommemd using them. But we had to take the ferry and a taxi and haul our equipment with us which added effort and at least an extra $100 each day. For two of us it was our ninth trip to St. John and we brought the other two divers to show them how great the diving was. We were all so disappointed that we all agree we may never return. So we will put Grand Cayman into our rotation instead. So beware - the current team at Low Key is disorganized and unprofessional. Perhaps if management changes, we will return sometime but it will be years from now.

I recently returned from a week's vacation in St. John. St. John is one of my all-time favorite places on the planet and I've been returning on a fairly regular basis since first traveling there in 2010. Usually, when I'm in St. John, I make a point of booking a few dives with Low Key and this trip was no exception. This time, I booked four days of diving (all morning dives, though I often mix it up with afternoons, as well). Unfortunately, I couldn't do a night dive with them this time, due to scheduling, but I have in the past and absolutely love their night dives! On this trip I did three days of two-tank morning dives and one day of the Adventure Dives. One of the things I love the most about diving with Low-Key is that most of the sites are only 10-15 minutes from the dock. That means less time on the boat and more time in the water! Also, May can be a gusty month in St. John. So, the water was a little choppy, but a very comfortable 81 degrees. Again, given the abundance of dive sites, it meant the crew could easily find sites we could still comfortably dive high winds notwithstanding. Some of the things we saw were turtles, rays, eels, lobster, a nurse shark, barracuda, and other amazing fish and coral formations (particularly at Mingo). The crew couldn't be nicer. On this trip I dove with Serenity, Ellie, and Dave all of whom were outstanding dive leaders. The two captains (across all my trips) were Andre and Paul, also both really lovely. One really nice plus of diving this time is that they have a new catamaran that can convert from a dive boat to a leisure craft which gave more room to spread out before and after dives, which was really nice. I love the team at Low Key and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and I'm already looking forward to diving with them again, when I'm back in St. J next year (hopefully, I'm be able to fit in a night dive that time)!

I had a 2-tank Adventure dive with Low Key Divers and it was terrific! Lilly was our Dive master and Sam was the Captain. They did a great job at guiding our group through awesome pass-throughs and along a nice wall. They were god at spotting things and found a well camo-ed octopus. The boat was very nice and well organized. also it was not crowded (a total of 8 divers. I will visit them again the next time I am in St. John.

Excellent choice for us getting off cruise ship tender and walking to dive shop. Every major item done for us as the only thing we carried to boat was fins and our own equipment. BC and air already to go on the boat. Biggest surprise was the largest dolphin I have ever seen was swimming around our group. I estimate him being 1000 lbs and was the first for everyone on board even the dive masters. For anyone needing a refresher coarse they seemed to do that very well as well.

We had a fantastic time with our children, utilizing the services of low-key water sports. Our boys aged 10 and 12 did the “discovery“ scuba program and had a blast. My husband and I did refresh your courses and then participated in an open water dive. Everything was in order, great staff, and supervision, and the timing on all excursions was excellent.
