Le Gallerie Degli Uffizi
One of the world’s oldest art museums, the Uffizi was built by architect Giorgio Vasari in the 16th century to house government offices. It was only later that the building was used to showcase art collected by Florence’s ruling Medici family, and not until 1769 that it was turned into a public museum. The repository of more 1,500 works dating from Greek times to the 18th century, the core of the Uffizi is its unmissable collection of Renaissance art. Your tour concentrates on these, as your guide leads you around the highlights of the Renaissance rooms, home to great works by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and others. Enter the spectacular Botticelli Room and wonder at his The Birth of Venus and Primavera as your guide explains their composition and meaning, and the nature of Botticelli’s genius. 5.00Had a great tour! Giovanna was extremely detailed and interpreted many pieces throughout the museum. The tour was a perfect pace and loved all the fun and new information Giovanna gave! There was still a wait (group line to get in) which led to the tour running over time. Plan on this possibly happening, I had not other plans for the day & Giovanna was great for still staying past the allotted time to finish the tour. After the tour you are free to roam around the museum on your own and catch things you weren’t able to stop at before. Overall a great detailed tour that was much better than going in without any information. Thanks Giovanna!!!

5.00Guide has a wealth of knowledge and passion for the artworks. He shared historical context and answered questions. He took good care of the group. I have some mobility challenges and he took us to to a functioning elevator, which required going off the beaten path. I highly recommend this tour. It was also good financial value.

5.00We had an amazing experience on our Uffizi Gallery tour. Our guide, Giovanna, was absolutely incredible—extremely knowledgeable, warm, and attentive. She brought the art and history to life in such a special way and truly took great care of us throughout the tour. We found ourselves wishing we had more time with Giovanna, but had to leave early to make it to see David. We easily could have spent the entire day with her! Highly recommend this tour—and if you can, ask for Giovanna. She made the experience unforgettable.
