My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this informative tour. Ivan did a very professional job, thoroughly understood his material, and left us with a great deal of compassion for the victims…this was excellent!

I decided on this tour based on their focus for the victims, and it was very thoughtful and informative. Marina did a great job engaging the rather large group (15), and ensured we had ample opportunity to interact with her and ask questions. I recommend this tour!

Jack the Ripper has always fascinated me in a slightly uncomfortable way. Being intrigued by Victorian-era psychopaths isn't usually on my list of hobbies, but while in London I figured I'd lean into the curiosity and spend a couple of hours diving headfirst into the mind, myth, and mayhem surrounding history's most infamous unidentified killer. Booking was refreshingly straightforward, and the meeting instructions were foolproof — which was fortunate, because judging by the crowd that gathered on a warm Friday evening in May, half of London seemed to have had the same idea. The tour operators clearly know what they're doing. There were four or five separate groups, each with dedicated guides for different languages including Spanish, French, German, and, thankfully for me, English. The tour lasts around two hours, and you'll certainly get your steps in, but the pacing was excellent. Our guide was engaging, knowledgeable, and expertly shepherded us through the East End without losing anyone to the modern-day mysteries of Google Maps. At each location, we'd stop for detailed explanations of the events that took place there, bringing the stories vividly to life. At £20, this was money exceptionally well spent. Much of the old slum housing has long since been replaced by shiny office blocks and trendy developments, but somehow that doesn't diminish the atmosphere or the enduring mystery surrounding Jack's gruesome crimes. If anything, the contrast makes it even more fascinating. All in all, it was a brilliant evening. I'd happily recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in history, true crime, or simply hearing a very good story while clocking up a few thousand steps. And when it's all over, do yourself a favour and visit Jack the Chipper for fish and chips. It may be the only time you'll leave a Jack the Ripper tour thinking, "I could murder a cod." Well done to the entire tour team.
