What To Expect
The Maine Medical Center is home of the Barbara Bush Children’s Wing. Mrs. Bush, the wife of our 41st president and the mother of the 43rd president, she lived much of her life in Kennebunkport, Maine, 30 miles south of Portland. She passed away in 2018. Mrs. Bush did so much great work raising money for treatment of kids with terrible illnesses, and her legacy is remembered in the Children’s wing of the Maine Medical Center. Note: The tour is over 12 miles long, with more than 33 audio stories, and takes about 1-2 hours to complete. Buy once, use for one year! Ideal for extended visits and return trips over the next 12 months.
Victoria Mansion
This is the Victoria Mansion. Built by Ruggles Morse in 1858. “the best standing example of Victorian art, architecture and decoration.” He named it “Victoria Mansion” after Britain’s Queen Victoria, It was built as his summer home.

4.00It was an unexpected “feels like” 16 degrees (nation wide cold burst !) in early November. when we started our trip and even had a short bought of snow flurries, so this was the greatest alternative to a walking tour. Very enjoyable, at your own pace, Audio and GPS very informative, efficient and easy trouble shooting - but really didn’t have any problems! Great Day together for our short get away together!!! We both really enjoyed it !

3.00Before booking, I read very mixed reviews about this offering. I knew this experience could be an absolute hit, a total miss, or somewhere in between. I was hoping for a hit, that wasn't our experience. The syncing of the app to the rental car's android auto did not work consistently. Even so, we used the list of the 19 sites that was sent with the original instructions email. We customized our tour, went to the sites we wanted to see, made the best of it, and kept it moving.

2.00We have used GPS audio tours before, but this one was very poor. Unless you started at stop one and kept going, the tour did not sync. Also did not give directions to the next stop. Trying to negotiate with this in traffic in downtown Portland did not work. The few segments we were able to listen to played at random times and not when we were passing the sights they were talking about. Unfortunately, this whole thing was a waste of money and has soured us from trying any of the other products from this vendor.

4.00What a great solution. I was with my 80 year old mother who cannot walk far. We chose between this or a trolley ride. I am so glad we chose this! We had a fantastic day- the narration was interesting- we could turn it loud so she could hear. You do have to be slightly tech savvy and STAY CALM. If you get off track the app will pop back on once you are in the right place! It’s really amazing. I would definitely get it again in another place.
