We had an absolutely wonderful time on the walking tour of Sydney with Jake as our guide. From start to finish, he made the experience engaging, informative, and fun. Jake clearly knows and loves the city—his stories about Sydney’s history, architecture, and hidden gems brought each stop to life in a way that felt personal and authentic. He struck the perfect balance between sharing fascinating facts and keeping things light-hearted and entertaining. The pace was comfortable, and we got to see both the famous landmarks and some great local spots I never would’ve found on my own. If you’re visiting Sydney—or even if you’re a local wanting to see your city through fresh eyes—I can’t recommend Jake’s tour enough. A truly memorable way to experience this beautiful city!

I absolutely loved this Sydney City Walking History Tour. Jake was an incredible guide — friendly, engaging, and full of fascinating stories about the city’s past. He brought Sydney’s history to life with humor and insight, connecting historic landmarks with modern-day culture in a really fun way. The pace was perfect, with plenty of time to take in the sights and ask questions. I learned so much about the early colonial days, hidden laneways, and the characters that shaped Sydney. Jake’s passion for the city really made the experience memorable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore Sydney beyond the usual tourist spots. Thanks again, Jake, for a great day!

Really enjoyed our tour, the 4 hours just flew by. There were only 6 people in the group which was lovely. Michael had organised an excellent route to take in areas of historic significance as well as the main tourist attractions

I heartily recommend taking this tour when you first get to Sydney. Daniel took us to many key historical places that had such interesting stories. We would’ve never known what these things were if we hadn’t learned about them. He also took us to key places in the city that we could put on a list of places we wanted to go back to later and spend more time. This was very helpful in planning out things we wanted to do for the rest of our trip. Daniel was very entertaining and kept everyone in the group engaged. We enjoyed the small group. Felt like just a few friends walking around town. Daniel was helpful with all sorts of recommendations and we appreciated that even later the next day, I was able to message Local Sauce in the WhatsApp link provided and ask for some information about a pizza shop we passed by on our tour and they were quick to respond with a name and a link. We also enjoyed ending the tour at the harbor with a beer. What a great way to finish up a fun afternoon!!

I had an absolute fantastic time with my tour guide, Dan! He is incredibly friendly and unbelievably knowledgeable about Australian and Sydney history. I learned so much about the early days of Sydney and Australia as well as some more current affairs. I also learned about some flora and fauna. We ended the tour at a pub on the harbour and sat with our beers for a chat. I did not want the tour to end. Thank you Dan and Local Sauce Tours. Highly recommend!!
