Our inflatable rafting vessels are modeled after Coast Guard rescue rafts and are safe, extremely agile providing the best platform to experience whales and have a fun ride. Our vessel allows you to be close to the ocean surface. Giving you the feeling of being with the whales in there natural environment. From this vantage point photography captures a unique perspective of looking up at the animals when they breach the surface. Our Captains are trained to find the most surface active, diverse behaviors and best photo scenarios.
All trips from December – April are guaranteed to see whales or you go again for FREE!
We are locally owned and operated since 1982 and every ticket supports our participation in marine research projects and our role as certified first responders to whale entanglements.

Our small group Whale Watching tour is our most popular whale watching tour on Maui. Our fast and safe rafting vessels are low to the water and perfect for close encounters and small groups making every seat a front row seat! Listen to whale songs on our hydrophone and don’t forget your camera for epic photos of our humpback whale friends! There are two options 1.5 hour and 2 gour, please select the tour you are wanting.

Because we are eco-friendly, purified water is available in an igloo style dispenser, not plastic water bottles.

5.00It was a fun excursion for us. We got to see so many dolphins surrounding our platoon and got to hang out with a mama whale and her playfulness calf for 15 minutes. An experience of our lifetime.

5.00We had an amazing trip and saw so many whales. Jeremiah was a fantastic, engaging captain that entertained as much as he taught. Both he and the first mate were incredibly knowledgeable and patient with the many questions that were asked. You could tell they both loved their jobs which made the experience even better.

5.00Incredible tour! We had the best experience. Out captain Jeremiah and First mate Cat were engaging and loads of fun. We saw 8 whale breechs a mother and baby traveling with a male, numerous pectoral flaps !it was a trip of a lifetime!

5.00We had a wonderful trip with Jeremiah as our Captain and Kat as our first mate and naturalist. The water wasn’t “smooth” but Jeremiah did a great job of navigating and minimizing the swells as much as he could (NICE AIR ON THAT ONE!). We saw several whales and got as close as laws would allow. The last whale encounter we had 4 of them together which is abnormal but fantastic. We were also fortunate to get into a pod of 150-200 spinner dolphins. My wife got a great video that I can’t upload here of the pink belly of the dolphin as he was dancing on the water. Great experience. Great crew. Wonderful time and would totally recommend. AND FUN FACT …. We now know the tongue of the whales weigh 2 tons!!! (Sorry again Kat!).

1.00Apparently the highway you have to take to get to their dock is notorious for traffic jams. No word of warning about that in the emails or ads. We were the victim of a traffic jam, and missed our trip be a few minutes. They refused refund or rebooking.

5.00What an amazing experience! We found whales right away and got the show of a lifetime. Andrew was a great captain and Charlie was so knowledgeable about humpback whales. This was our first time whales watching and we couldn't of asked for a better trip. I highly recommend booking a tour with Ultimate Whale Watching!!
