Bulldog tours has provided me with the most memorable experiences in Charleston. This was my 6th tour with Bulldog and the after hours Yorktown tour was a great History tour with some mentions of paranormal. (Kinda like a real "Night at the Museum" visit. The jail tour is definitely a ghost history tour. The Dungeon (plus walking) tour is a history tour with more paranormal vibes. My favorite, *that is not for everyone* are the paranormal investigation tours. You have to call their number to book one or find if one is available, but this has been the most legit and laid back with access to significant "hotspots" in any city i've visited. If you're an investigator, skeptic, or somewhere in between; ask for Dustin and go on the Yorktown paranormal investigation tour. It is well worth it!

On Saturday, Nov 8, 2025, my wife & I thoroughly enjoyed taking this tour, obtained through "Bulldog Tours", which was a gift to us from family members. Aside from my longtime interest in WW II history since boyhood, the interest in the paranormal has also been a longtime fascination, as well. The chance to once again visit this "grand lady of history", and to possibly experience an interaction with the unexplained while on board, was greatly anticipated. Touring through the levels of the ship was marvelous, but without the historical narrative, by our guide, Mr. Bruce Orr, it would just have been a great lesson in history. But Bruce takes it to the "next-next" level. He not only is a published author, with deep experience in naval history and a long career in law enforcement, he DOES have legitimate photos of sightings, taken in previous years, ON The Yorktown, at locations where the groups stand for various presentations, during the tours. We relished every minute of our 1 & 1/2 hour tour, made memorable by the knowledge and personality of Bruce Orr, our most impressive and entertaining tour guide! The mechanics of the tour are not very demanding; my wife and I are 70 and 73 years old and we tolerated the amounts of required walking, climbing and bending in the tour quite easily. I would highly recommend this tour, both for the history to be gleaned from your guide and for the potential to brush shoulders with the paranormal.

The Carrier was great had a tour guide who was very knowledgeable and told a few ghost stories along the way. But if you wish to go to the gift shop the same day go early because the store closed before my tour began. Over all very fun.
