Your museum sent you to Utrecht to investigate monster sightings. You're skeptical, until your first witness describes a cockatrice, a medieval military order still active in the city, and a woman who bricked herself inside a church wall.
Follow clues through 7 landmarks, from the Speelklok Museum to the Dom Tower, a Teutonic Knights compound, and a canal where a poem is carved into cobblestones one letter per week. Decode ciphers, question witnesses, and uncover the truth behind the Monster of Utrecht.
Download the Questo app, activate your quest with the booking code, and start playing at the Speelklok Museum. No guide, no schedule, explore at your own pace.
Discover stories most visitors miss: a cathedral that vanished in a single storm, the only Teutonic Order still active in the Netherlands, and a UFO on a building made from 22 million bricks.
Perfect for couples, families, or curious explorers. About 70 minutes, 7 stops through Utrecht's medieval center.

It was well put together. A lot of reading and relatively few assignments. The route goes back and forth. This could also be a round.

It is a good way to get to learn Utrecht. The tour visits some less known parts of the city center, but it involves quite a lot of walking. The time to solve the questions are timed, but if you do not succeed in time you can take as much time as you need.

I loved the way the story takes you from one landmark to another, some of which we might have missed all together. The puzzles are not too difficult to figure out, so our daugther was able to figure out most of them herself.

We couldn't download the app and didn't have a good code. So at the time we wanted to participate, it didn't work. We did pay for 10 people but couldn't do a scavenger hunt. No idea if and how we can get our money back and how you can reach someone who can help with this. At the starting point 'BroodNee' (breakfast and lunch café) on the Mariaplaats one also has no information. Too bad!

App did not work, everything was in English, while I had Dutch set as a language, the starting addresses changed three times, where I walked with grandchild kilometers before we could start. And then it turned out to be a very different trip than bought. The so-called 24/7 support was not available. Submitting a complaint afterwards and getting a refund is not possible, because contact is impossible. It sucks!

Fun game with lots of fun puzzles. In addition, you will encounter things you have not encountered before. Too bad the weather wasn't good.

I was expecting more of a challenge - the actual puzzles were a bit too simple, possibly aimed at children (for example fill in the letters of an animal you can see, someone's name from a statue etc), but it was a good way to have a self-guided tour of the city. Explained the history of the landmarks with a bit of backstory. Beautiful city, definitely worth a visit.

I found the listing while in Utrecht & attempted to follow the link to download the self-guided tour/game. First I got errors saying my email wasn’t right, after attempting to verify several times I messaged the help line - the did respond quickly & said they’d unlock it “now”. I then spent at least another 30 min trying to access the game before realizing I needed to download a whole different app (not trip advisor) to be able to do this. I cannot download an app over cellular & did not have WiFi. The rep was rather dismissive, pointing out it’s an online game. I *can* be online, downloading an app takes more bandwidth & I wasn’t able to. I asked for a refund and they wouldn’t comply.

It was okay. The only plus point is that it takes you to the Speelklok and Miffy museums. (Also only cool if you have kids)

This was a really nice game – I saw many lovely parts of Utrecht that I might never have found on my own.
