Join an evening excursion and follow cryptic radio transmissions and the lingering traces of two long-ago hikers to find the scenic trailhead where the real journey begins. This pathway leads toward a place filled with beauty, and proof that the legends of Whistler are true. Moment Factory, a global leader in video, lighting, sounds and special effects, will bring Whistler’s forests to life this summer with a brand-new show.

This 1.5 km (summer) / 1km (winter) trail through an old growth forest will take visitors of all ages on an hour-long multimedia night walk in pursuit of hidden wonders.

The entire experience takes place outside within a trail network which is partially levelled but not asphalted.

Please note the Summer course involves staircases.

Not recommended for travellers that may suffer from epilepsy or are affected by visual light stimulation

This is an outdoor experience that runs rain, snow or shine. Travellers must be physically fit to walk the unpaved trail in winter conditions.

Our Summer course involves stairs, not suitable for those with mobility challenges.

Vallea Lumina: An outdoor multimedia light and sound show. Follow the story of two lost hikers from long ago and follow the enchanted trail.
Duration: 1 day 21 hours: An outdoor 1km multimedia night walk experience into a forest of hidden wonders. Self paced and self guided.
Basecamp Experience: Before and after your tour, enjoy the ambiance of our Cougar Mountain basecamp with Café and firepits to roast marshmallows.

Exquisite! A unique multisensory experience. Required energy to hike up the mountain through the forest but well worth the effort.

We were overall very excited for this night hike and ended up being underwhelmed and disappointed. Some light effects were ok, but most were lackluster and quite dull. The story telling did not come alive like it should have and there was too much downtime in between "stations". The price was quite high and I would not recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area/

The light variations at the end were amazing. Neat experience! Highly recommend. Be prepared for a lot of stairs and hills.

It was a beautiful experience and kids loved it. But it was not mentioned anywhere in the details that this is a trail up the mountain and that we have to climb up and down at least 100 wooden steps, some of them super steep. My mom, who is a senior, came with us and she had to just wait down because she couldn’t take the stairs and missed the fun. It was a very good experience but it would be nice if was indicated in the details that this trip is not just into a forest but up the mountain as well. I saw a l couple of senior people who tried and climbed the steps and took the steep path up , panting and coughing and stopped mid way. I wouldn’t recommend this for people with knee problems and breathing difficulties. But if you are fit it could be an enchanting experience.
