• Bad first half. Good second half

  I am only giving 5 stars for the second half of the Hop on Hop Off because we had live commentary from Sherry. She made the rest of our experience so enjoyable with her knowledge and anecdotes. So much more was pointed out to us. The first half with a recorded commentary was really not very good. They missed a lot of opportunities to tell us of the surroundings and talked more amongst themselves on shopping or eating or just general chit chat which added no value to the tour at all. If our second half was as uninspiring as the first you would have got two stars at most. You need more knowledgeable people like Sherry. Here’s an idea. She could be a trainer!!!!

  So not worth it. This is basically a city bus with stops nearby an attraction (Stanley Park is huge but only one stop). There is not a human tour guide just an audio feed that consistently cuts out mid story when the driver exits a zone driving too fast and it starts new story to cut off. This happened on each bus we got on. Very annoying! Bus conditions vary from a newer double decker cloth seated bus (with only side windows making it hard to see when most of the alleged tour sights are buildings/skyscrapers ranging) to a no-kidding kids' school bus with kid size seats (straight up bench back seats with zero knee space) If you are over 5'5'' forget about leg room. I feel completely taken as a first-time tourist in Vancouver for the excessive price we paid. Take a taxi.

  Great way to see the highlights of Vancouver with a short stay. The Driver/Guide was exceptional. She had opportunities to stop along the way as traffic was light.

  Found it to be a waste of money. The hours of operation start late and end too early. Bus was clean and drivers nice.

  This is a popular attraction so be prepared to wait for the transfers. I will say I was surprised at one of the stops because it was in a pretty sketchy area that made us uncomfortable. But It was an overall easy way to get around for the money.

  Yes, I said what I said. We had Sherry as our tour guide/bus driver/comic relief today. Let me tell you, this service would NOT have received 4 stars if it wasn't for her. The first day my friend and I took the bus, we were subjected to an automatic mindless and somewhat annoying pre recorded audio which was supposed to tell you about each area, as you passed them. Well, the audio was interrupted constantly and rarely was on track with what we were passing at the time. Fast forward to today, we grabbed another bus with the sole intention of going to Gastown to grab some last minute souvenirs. The experience with her was 5 star! She narrated every sight herself as we approached them (imagine that! You can actually get the information and know where to look!) Yes, it is a nice service to get you around the city and stops at lots of points of interest. Much cheaper than a taxi, no worrying about renting a car. Bottom line, its a good service BUT if you want the BEST experience, you want to get on Sherrys bus! And....she didn't even roll her eyes when my friend tipped her in American dollars (but I did). Highly recommend Sherry!!

  This was easy to do and the ride was informative and enjoyable. We did the whole route and then later stopped at specific spots to explore. I enjoyed this trip a lot!

  All the drivers were very friendly and helpful —Sherry was by far the most candid and fun. Hop-on-Hop-off was perfect for our visit because we could choose our interests and truly enjoy them. Bring a jacket if you are cold-natured… the ac was freezing 🥶
