Please be aware that access to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica is subject to Vatican regulations and ceremonies. The Vatican Museums or the Basilica may decide to close these sites on short notice due to official events or religious proceedings. In the event of any unexpected developments, we are unable to foresee or control these closures in advance. However, your ticket will still grant you access to the Vatican Museums.
Visitors with a certified disability of more than 76% do not require a ticket.
It is not possible to join the tour with a stroller unless it is foldable.
Please note: Michelangelo’s “The Last Judgment” on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel is scheduled for an extraordinary maintenance and conservation intervention starting in January 2026, with scaffolding covering the wall for several months. Although the chapel remains open to visitors, the scaffolding will partially obscure the fresco during this period.

4.00We did the guided tour and thought it was okay, the tour guide her self was very good, knowledgeable and funny. The group wasn’t too big, the meeting place was easy to find and moving through the line to get into the Vatican was actually quite quick, the Basilica part of the tour I thought was very nice. It was gorgeous inside the tour guy was knowledgeable and showed us around all the Major points. My only complaint about the tour overall is that you move quite fast through the Vatican museum, which was the part we were most looking forward to. You do hit the most popular attractions and she takes a moment to talk about those, but if you’re someone who likes to stop and look around and take your time,read the plaques and look at all of the things other than just the couple of big attractions in the room, and then I would suggest the self guided tour, not the guided tour but overall if you’re looking to just kind of get through the attractions, I would definitely recommend this tour.

5.00Well worth the money. Excellent guide to show us around, think her name was Julia? museum was amazing, the sistine Chapel incredible and also the basilica. Would highly recommend this tour. We were on the tour for 2.45 hours. At the end of the tour you can spend as much time as you like inside the basilica.

2.00Very disorganized. People crowded around inside and out of small office, no person or signage to organize, caused us to be late for start of tour. Rushed us to meet up with group and assured us we didn’t miss anything then throughout tour guide referenced things he’d told them earlier. Labeling of tour on viator site is deliberately ambiguous, lists many options but then limited options populate. All in all, could have derived more and been much less stressed with the good old fashioned audio recorded tour.
