1.00I understand that “ Please be advised that St. Peter’s Basilica is subject to last-minute closures by Vatican authorities. In the event of an unexpected closure, the tour will include a visit to the Raphael Rooms instead, in accordance with our terms and conditions.” but I feel like Viator and/or Tour Rome should have know way in advance (as in prior to our booking) that the Basilca would be closed today due to the Ceremony of the Swiss Guards that happens every year on the same day, May 6th. If we would have been advised this in advanced, we would have arranged to go on a different day. My family and I are very disappointed in this and feel that we should have been notified of this in advance or at least prior to the booking. That part was the main reason we wanted to go to the Vatican. I feel like Viator deceived us by not informing us.

4.00Overall a really good experience. I felt more comfortable being support with entry and guided around the museums. There is a lot of people and it could be confusing. Admission fee felt fair for what we experienced, and the tour guide was knowledgable and didn’t take us around too quickly which was great. The guide did speak slightly fast which made it difficult to always understand them but they were good at guiding us and taking us around. Visit in total was around 4 hours (we didn’t go into the Basilica due to the queue and other time restraints. It may be worth visiting this separately if you are keen. Overall would recommend this to someone wanting a tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel

1.00The tour tickets says “access to St Peter’s” but the guide takes the group out in front of the Basilica and says “there’s the security line” — which is the main line for the Basilica. The tour guide never mentioned that Museum visitors have another access that is not the regular line out front. Why do they not discuss that?

5.00Our guide, Anna, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Great to learn historical context surrounding the museum complex of several different museums and the art and architectural achievements of the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s and the art inside the complex. St. Peter’s and Sistine chapel are a must visit.
