Verde Canyon Railroad

Astonishing views of a wild and vibrant frontier, historic trestles, bridges and a 7000-foot tunnel are just a few of the highlights tucked into unusual rock formations, red rock pinnacles and towering crimson cliffs. Majestic bald eagles and hawks float effortlessly on the breeze above Javelina, wild burros, jackrabbits and many other Canyon creatures, peacefully coexisting with this heritage railroad for more than 100 years.

At the depot, be sure to visit the John Bell Museum, home to the railroad's history and artifacts from its early days, as well as a wealth of information on Clarkdale, Jerome and the Yavapai-Apache Nation.

5.00This was such ac fun experience!!! The train ride was so fun. The scenery was beautiful! Craig (our outdoor guide) was very informative, Sapphire (our indoor hostess/bartender) was great! They provide you with yummy snacks on board and a champagne toast, and my ticket included a lunch from the cafe before hand. They offered great food options and generous portions. When I come back I’ll definitely do this again!

5.00The trip was relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. The breakfast menu provided with our ticket purchase had enough selections to satisfy our expectations. Surprisingly nice charcuterie trays at each assigned seat. Staff and services before, during and after the trip were quite good. We were able to see much of the magnificent landscapes and captured hundreds of photos during the slow ride. Having read scores of prior reviews, I was a little concerned, but seating was comfortable. Air conditioning worked great. The restroom was clean and fully functional. The scenery is awesome. For those who find it redundant and boring, stay home and play video games.
