This private tour is to give You a general understanding of Vilnius Old Town history and culture. Tick the must-see boxes for Old Town as well as the artistic Uzupis district.

You will start your walk at the Cathedral square – in the original place where the city of Vilnius was founded. You will learn that in its long 700 year old history Vilnius has a lot to tell. Through centuries it transformed from rural pagan town to a fully modern city of Northern Europe.

Proceed into the old town and will visit the narrowest street of Vilnius, Presidential Palace, Vilnius university, and its surroundings. You will leave the city through the only remaining gate, Gates of Dawn, of the former defensive wall, You will then stroll to admire a fascinating Vilnius panorama from the hill of Barbacan.

Vilnius Old Town

Let us take You through the main sights of Vilnius Old Town that we enjoy passing ourselves every time we show them. You will be guided through impressive Gothic and Baroque churches, our Cathedral square, Presidential Palace, Vilnius University, Jewish Quarter. You will pass through the Gates of Dawn and City Gate remaining from medieval fortifications. You will walk the narrow streets that turn into an open air gallery called Artworks on Literatu str. and finally you might get a chance to spot some locals drying their laundry in the the narrowest street of Vilnius. Get your cameras ready to capture some panoramic views of Vilnius as well as architecture and bizarre art pieces. The tour is private therefore if You have any particular interests just let us know in advance or at least at the beginning of the tour – we will try to tailor our topics to Your interests.

You will visit the quirkiest and most vibrant area of Vilnius – Uzupis republic. It is home to bohemian people, who declared their independence and have their constitution – take Your passport to get a stamp! Viktorija was Fabulous!!! She gave us a very comprehensive tour of the old city. She shared a lot about the history, the construction, and beauty of Vilnius and the Lithuanian culture. Viktorija handled all our questions and had many suggestions for restaurants, shops and other activities for our stay. The hill of the 3 crosses had a very nice bird's eye view. She was very kind, professional, courteous and fun. Great way to spend the morning!!
