What To Expect
Galleria Borghese
The Galleria Borghese is where you can find priceless masterpieces of 1st-3rd centuries, Follow our passionate guide who will show you the most fascinating and brilliant Artworks and bringing to life all the stories and events behind this structure. The main floor is mostly devoted to classical antiquities (including a famous 320–30 AD mosaic of gladiators found on the Borghese estate at Torrenova, on the Via Casilina outside Rome, in 1834), and classical and neo-classical sculpture such as the Venus Victrix. Its decorative scheme includes a trompe l'oeil ceiling fresco in the first room, or Salone, by the Sicilian artist Mariano Rossi makes such good use of foreshortening that it appears almost three-dimensional.

5.00This was a surprise gem during our Rome visit. The estate itself is huge and well worth the sighting seeing train tour. The paintings are sculptures in the gallery were amazing. The guide spent a solid two hours explaining the importance of key pieces and their historical significance. No problem getting a taxi to and from the Borghese site.
