Fantastic History and Luxurious Tea

5.00The weather was rainy and dreary, but our guide made the best of it for us. Mike D. was enthusiastic even with rain pelting him as we discussed the history of Kensington outside before our indoor tour started. He set us up well. The handheld guide available inside was definitely worth it, just as Mike had stated. Kensington walkthrough was done well with plenty of interesting stories on the device. Our guide met us after our walkthrough and discussed the gardens as we walked to the Orangery for our high tea. We were lucky that all the other guests that day decided to cancel due to the weather, so we had our guide to ourselves. It made for a nice tea with good conversation. Sitting in the Orangery was fun and they played the Bridgerton soundtrack. Lots of teas to choose from, nice staff, and lots of goodies to try. Great tour and you can definitely do this one in bad weather if you just keep a positive outlook about it.

5.00Really loved this experience! The first hour is spent walking in Hyde Park, getting a little bit of history of the area as well as about Kensington Palace and the Royal Family. After, you have tea at The Orangery. Come hungry because there’s a lot to eat and it will fill you up! You can also try more than one tea, if you like. Our tour guide, Mike, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and kind.

You could tell he truly loves what he does, and that made the experience even more special. Ending the tour with tea at the Orangery was the perfect touch — a beautiful, relaxing setting that allowed us to soak in everything we had just learned. It felt elegant without being stuffy and was a lovely way to slow down and enjoy the moment. Highly recommend this experience if you want history, insight, and a classic London memory all wrapped into one.

So lovely to stroll through the garden to the palace; hear and feel the history as it was so vividly depicted by our tour guide Liz, who truly made it all come alive. Her passionate wealth of knowledge around the British Monarchy was exceptional! She recited centuries of historical facts through current day, with such brilliance,absolutely amazing!! Finally what better way to conclude, than with afternoon tea, an age-old British Royal tradition in a gorgeous orangery, how fitting!!! Thank you Liz for an incredible experience! 5.00Wonderful guide and overall experience. Really loved seeing all the royal dresses and the Princess Diana gowns, tributes, statue. She isn’t even mentioned in the other palace tours - what a shame. The tea was delicious and fun - we had a nice group who all enjoyed the experience!
