What To Expect
Paia
No trip to Maui is complete without a trip to Paia, Maui’s coolest little town. Located on the North Shore, Paia started as a plantation town with the opening of Paia Store in 1896 to serve the needs of the multi-cultural plantation workers of Paia Sugar Mill.
Ke'anae Arboretum
Located adjacent to the Pi'ina'au Stream, the Ke'anae Arboretum features terraces built by ancient Hawaiians for cultivating taro, which was a staple of their diet. A paved walkway measuring 0.6 miles runs through the arboretum, showcasing a diverse array of timber, fruit, and ornamental trees from different tropical regions of the world, many of which are labeled with nameplates. With over 150 types of tropical plants, including taro, the arboretum is an excellent spot to observe native flowers and marvel at the vibrant bark of rainbow eucalyptus trees.

5.00Melissa made our private Road to Hāna tour the highlight of our Maui trip. From the moment we set off she had us covered — snacks and cold drinks ready, and an itinerary that hit every great spot along the way. We did cow cuddles, stopped at waterfall after waterfall, relaxed at beautiful beaches, and she took us to the best chocolate stop on the island (a small local place, not some big commercial tourist trap — exactly the kind of hidden gem you hope for). Lunch was incredible huli huli chicken that we never would have found on our own. Melissa knew all the right places, timed everything perfectly to beat the crowds, and made the whole day feel personal and fun. If you want the Road to Hāna done right, ask for Melissa. Absolutely the best.

We booked the Full Day Road to Hana tour based on the company’s outstanding five-star reviews, but honestly, we had no idea just how special the experience would be. We knew we didn’t want to tackle the winding, curvy roads ourselves, so having a luxury vehicle to relax in was a huge plus. But what truly made the day unforgettable was Cully. She was incredibly informative, professional, funny, and an absolute joy to spend the day with. She shared so much fascinating information about the island’s history, flora, and fauna, making every stop along the way even more meaningful. She also knew all the best spots for those perfect Instagram-worthy photos and provided wonderful historical context at each location we visited. Cully’s passion for Maui and her knowledge of the island truly elevated the entire experience. We can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re considering a Road to Hana tour, book it—you won’t be disappointed!

5.00What a fantastically fun day! Spencer our guide/driver picked us up at our resort (and honored our super early pick up request), jived with our family right off the bat, shared so many great stories and history of Hana and the islands, knew every nook and cranny of the off-the-beaten-track along the road to Hana, and helped make this day our best of the week. It’s such a stress-free way to travel and see the sights up to Hana - no hassle learning how to drive the sharp twists and turns, no hassle figuring out where to go or park, a ton of behind-the-scene stories of the people and the culture tied specifically to the sites. Spencer knew so many locals along the way and you could tell there was a mutual respect among them all. And by the time Spencer dropped us off at our hotel at days end, he felt like family. Take this tour! Ask for Spencer. Worth every penny!

5.00Five stars all the way. We had the absolute best day with Experience Hawaii Tours. Michael picked our family up right from the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and made the entire experience completely seamless from start to finish. Honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. Michael was amazing, super friendly, knowledgeable, fun, and made everyone in our family feel comfortable and taken care of the entire day. You can tell he genuinely cares about creating an unforgettable experience and not just rushing through a tour. Everything was beautiful, relaxed, and personalized. The scenery, the stops, the stories, and the overall experience were incredible. Worth every penny and then some.
