You will be taken on a full day wine immersion trip, by your own personal qualified, wine guide, to discover the wines of Ronda and the fascinating people behind these well-structured, full bodied wines. Your wine guide, Nicky has a great knowledge of both the wines in the area, the wine history of Ronda and personally knows the wine makers and vineyard owners behind these robust wines. You will get a unique insight into the winemaking process and traditions and get to enjoy a three-course meal in the company of the wine makers, overlooking the vineyards. This is an amazing day out. Nicky is enthusiastic and excited to share her wine knowledge with you, on one of her personalised, fun wine tasting trips.

What To Expect
Costa del Sol
You will be picked up at your accommodation on the Costa del Sol, in a 4WD Volkswagen Caravelle, and then leisurely driven through the stunning Serrania de Ronda mountain range where your day begins.
Ronda
Your first stop is an old restored convent dating back to the 16th century. You will speak firsthand to the owners, who will explain their journey of restoring a ruin into a beautiful winery whilst keeping most of the original building intact. The barrel room is the old chapel room, with recovered frescoes on the walls, under the bay windows. After visiting the Winery and learning about their wine making process, you will then have a guided tasting of a selection of their range of wines accompanied by local tapas, whilst sitting on the terrace and taking in the stunning views of the Tajo.

5.00We booked with Rootz and had Niky as our guide. The trip to Ronda with time to explore followed by a visit to Bodegas Conrad were great. Pretty standard as to what I would expect from a winery tour. However, our last stop, lunch & tour at Bodegas Ramos Paul was unbelievable. Many in our group of 15 said it was one of the best experiences of their lives. The location was gorgeous, the story was great, the wine and food were delicious, however the hospitality and overall feeling of welcome from Paul & Pilar were beyond amazing. We showed up as strangers to their home and after an afternoon of laughter, stories, education, entertainment and a meal prepared by the couple themselves in this beautiful piece of Spain, we left as friends. There was no other option than to turn off the outside world and just enjoy yourselves while Paul & Pilar shared their passion for this wine and the people who become a part of their story. Niky was a great tour guide, very informative and extremely knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had. 5 ⭐ definitely recommend!

5.00This was a fantastic day! Nicky picked us up at our villa which was so worth it- the van was very comfy for our group of 6 and the drive up the mountain was beautiful to enjoy without the stress of driving! We explored the beautiful city of Ronda on our own- definitely plan for at least 2 hours to see this lovely place! Nicky then took us the the La Organic olive oil grove and mill- what a stunning farm and operation- Laurel gave us such a wonderful and thorough tour and she answered our many questions, followed by a delicious olive oil tasting! We finished at the beautiful Conrad Estate winery for a great tour, and tasted 4 lovely wines accompanied by a tapas lunch. Nicky is a sommelier and was able to give us great insight into the Ronda wines and history, which expanded into exceptional conversations about wines and European travel! Our group loved that! This day was definitely a highlight for our group- thank you Nicky and La Organic and Conrad Estate!

5.00Add this to the list of glowing reviews regarding the Rootz experience. Everything we had hoped for! A terrific day at two very different but very good local wineries. Nicky and our hosts at both wineries provided in-depth commentary about their respective winemaking processes and the wines presented for tasting, and we enjoyed wine and tapas at the first winery, and wine and lunch at the second. We are grateful to have added this to our Andalusia itinerary. Hint - be sure to ask Nicky about spending some time in Ronda, a lovely and picturesque small town. We toured Ronda in advance of the first of two winery visits.
Would we do this again? Absolutely!

5.00Absolutely worth every penny! We are so delighted we done this tour, it was informative, the wine was amazing, Our tour guide Nicky was so friendly and gave us so much great information. The lunch was superb & the flavours were incredible. We would 100% do this tour again. Thank you for a fab day Nicky!!

5.00Nicky is knowledgeable and curated an amazing day for us in Ronda. She has wonderful relationships with first-class winemakers and the result is an incredible tasting tour. Two different vineyard owners spent multiple hours with us. In both cases, the owners prepared snacks (first stop) and an amazing lunch (second stop.). The views and scenery of the two wineries were incredible and we enjoyed the wines. We cannot wait to schedule another Tour with Nicky. Recommend her highly!

5.00Nicky was the perfect host - professional and knowledgeable as well as charming and with a great sense of humour! Everything was arranged to perfection. Ronda is a fabulous wine growing area with stunning scenery and the winemakers we were introduced to were really passionate about their wines and excited to share their stories with us. It was a very personalised tour and being hosted by the owners of the vineyards made it that little bit more special. We tasted a good range of wines, accompanied by local tapas and then a super lunch at the second vineyard, all of which were delicious. To finish the day, we had the good fortune of being serenaded by the owner with flamenco music played on his Spanish guitar as we watched the sun go down. All in all, an unforgettable experience, I can´t wait to go back again!
