  My daughter and I recently returned from skiing in Zermatt. While we were there we booked a day long lesson as well a guiding service to Cervinia. Both experiences were with Ari. I am unable be more effusive with my praise. Ari was able to instruct an older less skilled skier such as myself as well as my experienced skier daughter. He provided well thought out drills and practices to improve our carving skills. He is an older skier, like myself, and he understood my limitations while engaging my experienced 18 year old daughter. Additionally, he was kind enough to take and provide videos of our lessons for future reference. This was a real plus for me. I was glade to have him guide us to Italy. Being an old sailer, Ari noticed that the winds were picking up and got us back on the Swiss side before the lifts closed. PDS was easy to work with and I would recommend them to anyone.

  Our ski trip to Zermatt was a once in a life time experience. I took my four grandkids to go skiing for the first time. I booked with PDS Snowsport and the experience was incredible due to our ski instructor Ari Marttila. My four grandkids never skied and there ages were 18, 16, 13 and 10 years old. Ari was a true professional and a very kind person. He was on time and keep us informed at all times. Ari took his time with each grandkid and made them feel safe and encouraged them . He took videos of them through out the day and he took his time at night to send those video and photos with his comments to us. The experience was so great that we booked him for an additional full day. My grandkids skied the slopes of the Swiss Alpes and that will be a memory for a lifetime and that was due to Ari. If you have kids and you are looking for a great ski instructor I would strongly recommend Ari Marttila. He made this ski venture enjoyable and memorable. I truly thank you for taking care of my grandkids like if they were yours.

  Our three girls 8, 12 and 14 did six full day lessons with Annemarie and Ara. Both are excellent skiers and instructors, tailoring the girls’ time to more advanced runs for the more advanced girls and more intermediate for our intermediate daughter, while at the same time making sure they all had fun lunches together and some ski time all together too. But what was most wonderful was how much my girls just liked them as persons, thinking of them, and looking up to them, as they do to their cool 20-something cousins who are Colorado ski locals. The proof was in the photos (more than 100) and videos (several dozen) all with smiles on the slopes, in the ice caves, at lunch on the sun deck, in the terrain park and singing in unison pop songs in gondola. We couldn’t have been happier because the girls couldn’t have had more fun. We only hope they’ll adjust back to skiing with boring mom and dad.

  I recently traveled to Zermatt and hired Ari from PDS Snowsports as my guide for 1.5 days. He showed me all the different areas to ski on the Matterhorn, along with offering sound instruction on my skiing technique. We took the train up to Riffelberg and then skied down to the Igloo Hotel. Then continued to explore the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Ari always knew where the best conditions were for skiing, and never tired of me asking to stop so that I could take a photo! It was a fabulous experience and Ari made my trip to Zermatt a truly memorable one!

  My husband and I had a great day skiing with Ari 3 days ago. We went to Cervinia, Italy from Zermatt and back. He combined lots of skiing with some terrific drills and tips to help improve our technique. We lunched at a lovely restaurant in Cervinia with terrific views. A great day, would definitely recommend a day with Ari - you won’t be disappointed.

  If you're looking for a ski instructor who will genuinely transform your skiing, look no further than Ari — he was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. What really set Ari apart was his ability to work with each of us individually. He took the time to identify exactly what we needed to work on and tailored his approach accordingly, rather than giving a one-size-fits-all lesson. He was incredibly patient throughout, never making anyone feel rushed or self-conscious, which made a huge difference to our confidence on the slopes. His teaching style was excellent — he'd clearly explain a technique, back it up with a spot-on demonstration, and then give us the time and guidance to put it into practice ourselves. Ari also took videos of us skiing and then broke down the footage to show us exactly where we could improve. He then sent us an explanation at the end of the day on what we'd worked on, for us to take into next time we go skiing. Beyond his skills as an instructor, Ari is just a genuinely lovely person to spend time with. Sociable, warm, and great company. Whether you're a solo skier, part of a couple, or bringing the whole family along, I can't recommend Ari highly enough.

  We had a great time with PDS! Simon, after hearing about our family of 5 with varying abilities recommended Annemarie and she was terrific! I was originally going to book a guide for a couple days to get familiar with the are again. I had skied in Zermatt a few times before many years ago. After talking with Simon from PDS we decided on 5 of 7 so we would have flexibility with weather etc. two days in with Annemarie and we decided to add the two extra days. She made everything so easy! My wife and I were able to just ski and enjoy our time with the family instead of stressing over where to ski, where to eat, are we even in the correct area? Annemarie would come to the hotel collect the more ambitious of our group in the morning while the rest of us took our time getting to the slope. Annemarie being a race competitor and coach ment that our kids skills improved so much. She even took one of our daughters out to do photography one afternoon. When we needed recommendations AND reservations, she had it covered. Lunch in Italy at a restaurant that she was able to get us into last minute was the best. Even if you just spent one morning with a PDS guide it would be worth it for all of the information and suggestions you would gather for the rest of your trip.

  A fantastic time was had by all of us on our annual ski trip this year ! PDS in Zermatt thought of everything. Our wonderful guide ( AnneMarie) taught us how to ski and negotiated the logistics of the terrain like a true professional. She was part life coach , culinary expert, dance instructor, Apre Ski guide, transportation arranger, beer runner and equipment consultant. We will definitely be back and AnneMarie will guide us again in the future !

  We had a fantastic time with our guide, Andreas. We did our first day as a half day just to get accustomed to the mountain and not waste time starting at trail maps. We had such a good day with Andreas we booked a full day to go over to Italy! Andreas gave some great advice on our technique, was super personable, and really knew the mountain. I definitely wouldn’t go to Italy without a guide… the risk of getting stuck over there isn’t worth it; plus with a guide you don’t have to think about anything! We had a great lunch in Italy (he picked an awesome spot) and got us back in plenty of time. We’re so grateful for Andreas, and if we are ever back hope to see him again. If you’re on the fence because of the price, it’s 100% worth it (and a lot cheaper than getting lost in Italy or hurt on a trial that is too difficult by mistake).   Our instructor/guide was Ari. He was great to work with. He met us before our time to talk about what we would like to accomplish and to learn more about our level of experience. He took his time with us all day...showed us how to best navigate the mountain...which runs we should not miss...best resturants ...apres ski etc. The best was he offered clear simple instructions on our skiing and tips to improve even following up next day with written instructions. He even secured a difficult reservation for us. .if you get a chance spend a day with Ari
