What To Expect

Cu Chi Tunnels

9:15 am: You will arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels site before the majority of larger bus tours arrive. Watch a brief introductory ‘propaganda’ video to the Cu Chi area. 9:30 am: Explore the tunnel site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years. 11:30 am: Enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese traditional lunch by the river. 12:30 am: Say goodbye to Cu Chi Tunnel and return to Ho Chi Minh City.

This was a wonderful tour, thanks to our tour guide, Danny. The whole service was well organized from the pick up at our hotel, the speed boat, the excellent lunch and the wealth of information, Danny provided. He went above and beyond when we accidentally dropped our phone in the cab returning to the hotel. He tracked it down and actually returned it to us to the hotel. We appreciate his kindness so very much. If you can get Danny for this tour you'll be very fortunate.

Very interesting trip! Learned a lot about how things happened back in the days. Guide was great. Very knowledgeable and although the seriousness of historic events, he brought the story with respect and a certain “lightness”. Great experience.

We did the tour with our guide Chi, who was an excellent guide, his English was great and sense of humour made the day all the more enjoyable. I had read reviews of tours from HCMC that went by bus and I didn’t want to spend 2 hours in traffic each way. The boat was an excellent way to travel to the Cu Chi Tunnels site, we got to experience and see different sights than we would have otherwise. The tunnel tour was great. We loved learning about the history and the ingenious ways that the people used and lived in the tunnels during the various wars with France and the USA. You can go into the tunnels and one section there is a maximum 100m walk/crawl if you’re brave enough to go for it. The tour included lunch, which was some traditional Vietnamese fried spring rolls, a pork and a chicken dish served with rice and also chicken soup. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this tour.
