My tour ended up being just me, Irvan our guide and Elun our driver. All very relaxed as I knew Irvan already from a previous tour that I took with him in May. He was just as friendly and helpful as he was then. Elun is also a very safe driver. Irvan and Elun made it a really lovely day. You should be prepared for your day to last 11 + hours, rather than the 9-10 as described. A long day, but very worthwhile and I wasn’t rushed at any point. Once off the highway, the drive up to the crater is beautiful - panoramic views over tea plantations and quite peaceful. All the reviews about this trip are accurate. A lot is packed into the day - but my highlights would be the walk through the forest to the Domas Crater, chilling there (soaking my legs in one of the thermal pools while waiting for our eggs to boil) and the hotsprings later. It’s a good idea to have lots of cash available to tip the forest guide, for your eggs, a massage if you choose to have one at the Crater (about 100K rupiah for 30 minutes), to buy any souvenirs at the stalls on the walk, a coffee at Kopi Luwak and for massage at the hotsprings if you want one. I was lucky as I took my tour on a Wednesday and it was very quiet. I wasn’t overly hastled by people trying to sell me things, but can imagine that at the weekends or on holidays it is a different story - especially at Tangkuban Perahu. I personally didn’t rate the stop at Kopi Luwak Coffee as I found the tour very basic, but it was never going to be the main event for me and the coffee was very good. I also didn’t go to D’Castello as I didn’t want to, but if you have children you may want to do this. I enjoyed the hot springs very much. This is a separate complex - with man made pools and river. You can rent towels and sarongs at the Crater if you want to relax in the pools there (30 or 40 C) if you want a more natural, but muddier experience. Water is clear and hot both at the river and in the “swimming pool” at the complex and you can choose from a range of options - just river, river and pool etc. I had a great leg, arm and neck massage in the river for 100k rupiah. You can have full body massages but these are done on yoga mats, laid out on platforms next to the river. One thing to note is that I wore my most modest one-piece swimming costume and still felt quite exposed as most women went into the river fully clothed, minimum shorts and T shirts. Slightly different in the pool, where some women wore modest one piece swimming costumes but still some women in trousers and shirts. Maybe take a loose shirt or beach dress to wear either in the river or while moving around. I should stress that I wasn’t made to feel uncomfortable, but just felt different. I don’t think bikinis are allowed and I would suggest not wearing revealing swimming costumes. It really was a lovely day - thank you Irvan and Elun.

We a Family of 5 had great fun on this exciting trip to the Domas Crater. It's was once in a lifetime experience for us. We were picked up from the hotel in central Jakarta by our Guide Ivan and the driver to a trip to the mountains where the craters were. It was a 4 hours drive up to the mountains with scenic views up the mountains in the clouds. We walked down the mountains on a trail to the crater where we got ourselves massaged in the mud and dipped our legs in volcanic hot spring. Boiled eggs in the boiling water of the crater. Massage and boiling egg were for an extra fee. After the relaxing massage and dip we had lunch at a beautiful village. The food was really tasty. It's included in the package. The kopi Luwak coffee trip was informative too for coffee lovers. Saw tea plantation on the way back. The guide Ivan was fun to be around, jovial taking care of our needs and Very respectful. In all we had an amazing day.

Borneo, our tour guide, was great. Driver Elun was a very good driver. Terima kasih. Our day lasted 11 hours (not 9-10 as described). We did not go to D'castello and did not have lunch. These were our choices but the day was very full. Walking down (and up) through the forested paths was wonderful. Our eggs cooked for 12 minutes in the very hot water of the crater were the best tasting eggs we've had in years. Bring a bunch more cash for purchases, your guide through the forest and tips.

Super glad we did this tour. Worth it and would recommend! The volcano/crater was stunning to see, don't think I will get such an opportunity again. Also, fun stop at Kopi Luwak coffee shop which has the best tasting coffee, followed by a delicious lunch. Our guide Ms. Ine and Mr. Riswan were amazing - I would recommend requesting them for any tours offered by the same company! They amplified the experience and turned it into a fun day. Punctual, great English, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. They went beyond. Very glad we had them as our tour guide and driver. Thank you!!!

We just spend a very nice and interesting day visiting the volcano. Pick up was punctual and the driver did a great job (it was a loooooong drive/day) in this crazy traffic. Very friendly people. We received a lot of interesting and fun information about the places we visited and about Indonesia in general. English was very good so we had no problem communicating at all. I would book with them again if I wanted to go somewhere next time.

This was a fantastic day trip made all the better by our Agung and driver Samsul. I was a bit concerned with the trip to start because my wife had developed a leg problem and was having some problem with too much walking, this presented no problem for Agung and the day was altered to accomadate this. We had not seen a Volcano crater before and this was excellent Agung provided information about it and some traditional stories as to the formation of the Volcano. The hot springs were crowed but we found our own little piece of solitude and enjoyed the afternoon. Lunch was a great meal sitting down with both Agung and Samsul. The beauty of this trip was the flexibility offered by Agung very accomadating and nothing was a problem it is a reasonably drive but it is broken up and our guide was very mindful of this. Again a great day and thanks so much. When in Jakarta certainly give this a go.

Thank you to Agung for an amazing tour. Agung is a wonderful guide - knowledgeable, with very interesting insights and patient, making it a relaxing and enjoyable day trip. There is so much to do on this tour, the highlights being the craters, which were unique and impressive, and the excellent lunch! A great option for solo travellers as you can go at your own pace, with freedom to decide where you want to go and what you’d like to see, and while feeling confident that you are in safe hands the whole trip.
