With Waccamaw River Tours, you explore by boat the beautiful cypress-lined Waccamaw River and the Intracoastal Waterway. Come with us and explore the back creeks and swamps in search of birds and other wildlife that inhabit these southern waters within the untouched National Wildlife Refuge. The majesty of the moss-lined river is breathtaking and the peacefulness of this natural area is appealing to all. Large osprey nests can be seen along the river and at certain times of the year we are lucky enough to see the babies take their first flights. What To Expect
ARRIVE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE TOUR TIME. IF YOU ARRIVE ONE MINUTE PAST TOUR TIME YOU WILL MISS THE BOAT. PLAN ACCORDINGLY. Turn off Enterprise Rd. follow signs for Waccamaw River Tours to the back of the property, check-in at the gift shop and then sit down by the river or play the swing ring game until tour time.

5.00The river tour was such a pleasure - relaxing, beautiful, and informative. These guys really know this area and we got great pictures of alligators, osprey, and turtles. The gift shop had some items we don’t commonly see, and the bathrooms in the shop and on the boat were appreciated.

5.00I didn’t have many expectations going in this tour. I’ve been on enough boat tours in my travels to know it can be hit or miss. This tour was definately a hit. This tour was the most authentic tour I have experienced. Authentically good with local scenery, local wildlife and local history all with a few jokes along the way. Both my husband and I commented that this was the better touristy thing we did while visiting SC. We saw so many gators, turtles and birds along the way. I learned so many things about the local history. I laughed out loud a few times as well. Highly recommend to everyone ages 3-103.

5.00Great. Both Agnes, the tour guide and the captain made the trip entertaining. Agnes had a great knowledge of the river and wildlife as well as the history of the area. Saw many alligators up close and several ospreys and their nests, as well as other birds. Well worth the money!!

5.00Our guide and captain were so friendly and did everything they could to make sure we had a fantastic tour and saw lots of wildlife. They warn you from the start this a GUIDED tour so they do talk the whole time but Agis was very fun and friendly, she was upbeat and kept us engaged and entertained the whole time. I would really recommend this little river tour it was relaxing and a very cool way to learn about the river and some of the history.

If you love nature, this tour is definitely worth it. It’s a serene and scenic escape. During the tour, we saw a variety of wildlife, including yellow-bellied sliders, alligators, osprey, and even an anhinga, which made the experience even more memorable. The guide was knowledgeable and shared great insight about the river and its ecosystem. Overall, it was a beautiful and enjoyable outing that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature.
