With Waccamaw River Tours, you explore by boat the beautiful cypress-lined Waccamaw River and the Intracoastal Waterway. Come with us and explore the back creeks and swamps in search of birds and other wildlife that inhabit these southern waters within the untouched National Wildlife Refuge. The majesty of the moss-lined river is breathtaking and the peacefulness of this natural area is appealing to all. Large osprey nests can be seen along the river and at certain times of the year we are lucky enough to see the babies take their first flights. You may also see herons, egrets, cormorants, ducks, turtles, alligators and much more. Join us today for a Waccamaw River Tour adventure!

What To Expect

ARRIVE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE TOUR TIME. IF YOU ARRIVE ONE MINUTE PAST TOUR TIME YOU WILL MISS THE BOAT. PLAN ACCORDINGLY. Turn off Enterprise Rd. follow signs for Waccamaw River Tours to the back of the property, check-in at the gift shop and then sit down by the river or play the swing ring game until tour time.

A Educational Adventure in the Swamp!

I had never done something like this before and thought...Why not? I went in with a open mind and thought it was going to be one of those tours where the tour guide points to animals and gives you a chance to snap a picture. It was actually very educational! Our tour guide (sorry I do not remember her name but she wore glasses) was very knowledgeable on the history of the river, its importance, the animals that call it home, the neighborhoods and communities that surround the river and how the river is still very much relevant today. The weather on the day that I went was also very pleasant (but humid) adding to the beauty of the tour! I took home some of the honey that they offer in the shop. While it is expensive it is also delicious! I would recommend and visit if I'm in the area again!

Fortunately, we booked on what we found was the last excursion of the year– so glad we were able to go! The tour guide Agnes did a great job and made it fun. The information about the lake, the connecting Intercostal Canal, the ecology and the history of the area was very interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Wonderful river cruise. Our guide Agnes was very informative but also very funny. Her stories and dad jokes were spot on. But we did also learn a lot. Would thoroughly recommend this tour

There was a guide and the Captain,who showed us turtles,birds,told us about the local nature,waterways,honey, weather,plants. It was a beautiful ride,we went at noon, temperature was perfect.

All good. We didn’t see a lot of wildlife because of time of year. But we did see some birds and an alligator. The Captain and the guide- Sid and Agnes, were great. We learned a lot about the area and the wildlife. Agnes was very knowledgeable and displayed a good sense of humor. They made us very comfortable. It was relaxing and enjoyable.

A wonderful day out on the river! The captain and Agnes were truly pros! So knowledgeable and welcoming. We saw red tailed hawks and lots of turtles. A relaxing day on the river for all ages. And don't worry - they have bathrooms onboard!

In a word - Outstanding! Beautiful day, beautiful river, abundant wildlife - what else can one ask for? Our trip narrator, Agnes, was both knowledgeable and funny. She is a gem and made the experience all the more memorable. Highly recommend the trip.

Informative, very pleasant ride on the river. (Need to use up characters, so a warning an Uber ride there and back from Myrtle Beach. costs way more than the cruise.)
