The stunningly beautiful Wachau valley is a must-see day trip from Vienna, and the wine is sublime. To travel there with a driver and a top sommelier is an extraordinary opportunity, and for us it felt like a lifetime memory being made in the moment. Leo is a deeply knowledgeable sommelier but he’s also an exceptional host, gracious yet affable. He worked in the terraces of Wachau back in the day, and knows the winemakers well. Meeting them over a carefully selected flight is an insider’s delight. Plus, it feels like magic because he keeps his work invisible. Everything just unfolds perfectly. You’re in for an amazing trip.

Each stop is a highlight, the wines are superbly selected and with Leo you have an internationally experienced sommelier at your side, who with a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm makes the day an unforgettable experience. We are looking forward to a next time!

While we were in Vienna, we wanted to experience the city and the region, and the Wachau Velley Wine Tour was perfect! We were picked up from our hotel and were quickly in the countryside along the Danube River. Our guide Leo, having spent time working in the region earlier in his career, was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history and the art / science of making great wine. We learned a ton and had a lot of fun. Also tasted many great wines that we now have at home! We even visited a beautiful monastery on the way back to the city. We would have been wise (based on the time of year) to bring warmer clothing as some of the tour is spent outside learning about the winemaking process.
