Nice that the ferry was included. The bus driver gave some nice commentary while on the bus. Can be difficult to plan though because the bus comes quite infrequently (hourly departures in a one way loop) in the off peak season. Not much in the way of taxi's on the island though so still a decent option for travelling on a budget. Price is pretty fair considering it includes the ferry ticket.

We hopped on the ferry from Auckland harbour and jumped on the bus waiting at the ferry terminal. This was a thoroughly enjoyable day out as we got a great tour of the island - much bigger than I thought - and it was just perfect. The tour staff were great.. ..really informative and full of local knowledge and good humour. Needless to say it was an easy experience as we found the buses really regular, easy to flag down and then straight back to the ferry terminal.

Not a great experience, the bus doesn’t stop for more than 2 mins at any stop and the frequency of next bus is one hour, so you have to wait a lot if you missed one. Maybe good for solo travellers or travellers with friends. But family travellers may choose a different alternative.

Was charged USD when I am in New Zealand. It was an error when booking so that was a rip off. Not happy

So much fun. Tour guides were great. Had lots of energy and jokes. Loved the itinerary. Perfect!

It was a nice time. However I felt like towards the end of the day they were not as truthful as to times places closed. We could have made another stop and places were still open. But we didn’t because they said they would be closed.

An easy day! Travel by ferry, tour around the island by bus, stop at a beach for a picnic and enjoy! If you like to shop, there's plenty of that as well at the first beach. Liam was our driver and very entertaining. Tips: Stop at the Fullers360 ticket office to pick up your ferry ticket, which is included in this tour. And queue up early at the ferry terminal going to the island (40 minutes before) or you'll have to wait another hour for the next one. Super day!!!

The hop on hop off bus was a great way to see the island. We enjoyed the commentary from Tilly. FYI- the digital tickets from Viator can now be scanned at the ferry to and from the island so you do not need a physical ticket anymore.

Overpriced and disappointing, unless you love wineries. This is the only activity of many we did over both the North and South Islands in New Zealand that we didn't enjoy. Our saving grace was stumbling on the delightful little Italian Restaurant, Fenice, in Waiheke. The food was exceptional and the staff were lovely, and there vegetarian pizza was the best I have ever tasted.

Buses were clean, but the driver didn't say a lot so didn't get much tourist commentary. They were also too quiet and couldn't hear them. To be honest I wish I had known about the public bus as I would've used it instead, as they would've been cheaper and they ran past us more often than the hop on hop off bus. I didn't find any advantage to using this bus over the public buses.
