Dean from Auckland, the tour guide was great! The glow worm caves were so cool and the geysers and Māori arts center was wonderful. It was a very long day though with a lot of driving and short time spent at main attractions. I did several bus tours during my time in NZ and Dean was by far the best guide! But the length of the day and the payoff makes me hesitant to recommend to others.

Both the caves and Te Puia tours were cool to see. Our driver/guide and the tour guides at both locations were all w wonderful and knowledgeable. Only 3 stars because the majority of the day is spent in the van. While the guide shared information about New Zealand and the countryside we saw, we didn’t realize we would be driving for over 6 hours of the 12 hour tour day.

Driver was excellent. I liked how he got the passengers to be interactive with each other and talk about where they’re from. Excellent knowledge of the area and things we were gonna see.

This tour would be better served as a more leisurely two-day tour (rather than one 15-hour day) and include the gardens in Hamilton. We were picked up at 5:45am and returned at 8:30pm. It seemed we were rushed at every stop, including lunch and dinner (quick stop at McDonald’s!). The Waitomo Caves were spectacular. However, the short time allowed at Te Puia in Rotorua precluded viewing of any performances. Our tour guide, Simon, was very knowledgeable and personable.
