See Copenhagen’s top sights by foot and ferry in a small group with a local host.
This guided walking tour of Copenhagen features highlights, hidden gems, and a 25-minute ferry ride midway, ending with the Changing of the Guards at the royal palace.
We begin with a 1 hour walk past major landmarks and lesser-known corners, before boarding the electric harbor ferry. Your host shares local stories, history, and points out must-see sights along the water.
After the ferry ride, we continue for another hour on foot, passing the beautiful star-shaped 1600s fortress and the Little Mermaid. A short café stop offers time to rest and chat before we reach the Palace.
The 9:00 AM tour ends with the full Changing of the Guards at 12.00.
The 1:00 PM tour includes a smaller version of the Changing of the Guards.
If the ferry is full or out of service (rare, mostly on weekends), we follow the scenic walking route along the canal instead — still covering the full route, just with 2 extra km.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging… It rained the entire time we were on the tour (no one can control the weather), but we carried on! Considering creating a rainy day back up plan could be good for the future. Small adjustments such as finding different places to stand while sharing information about the sights. Overall excellent knowledge and engaging. He had great recommendations of things to do and places to see and eat, but without paper and pen it was difficult to get all of those down. On a different tour, our guide had a pdf. on his phone with all the recommendations that we could take pictures of to help navigate those great recommendations later. Overall it was a good experience!

Love the walk around the city. Great guide Eric. The tour was pretty much as described. Unfortunately the ferry ride was too full so we had to walk. We didn’t mind the weather was beautiful and so is the city.

We received a thorough overview of Copenhagen during our 3 hour walk with Kim. Lots of Danish history and architecture to admire along the way. The canal ride on the public ferry was a great way to see parts of the city from the water. I only wish we had more time in the city to go back and spend going inside some of the buildings. Next time I guess.
