We are the only public walking tour in Bergen with licensed, trained guides and tours that guarantee small groups :) We are all also local people who call this city home year-round. Join us for an authentic experience around Bergen.
The first half of our tour focuses on the history of Bergen. We wander the fortress complex, covering Bergen’s medieval history and short period as the capital of Norway. After this crash course in Norwegian history, we make our way to Bryggen – Bergen’s UNESCO Site. Here you learn about 1,000 years of trade history and the reason for Bergen’s founding and growth.
The second half of our tour is about life in Bergen. We leave the ‘touristy’ part behind and wander into the neighbourhood surrounding Bryggen. As you explore Bergen’s best kept secret, you’ll learn about everyday life. The tour ends by passing by our top picks for restaurants.
Our group sizes are limited so you can ask questions!

Great experience. Emma our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Bergen and was very enthusiastic in sharing her knowledge. Emma also covered the Norwegian modern day way of living life and how it differs from other cultures. She also gave us some great suggestions on places to visit and places to eat & drink while in Bergen. The tour itself took us through several interesting areas which was completed at a moderate pace, in places a little steep but manageable and Emma was very patient and kept the group together. Overall thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would definitely recommend it for the start of your holiday.

It was cold and rainy just what we were prepared for. Our guide was friendly and found unique ways to see Bergen.

Had a very interesting and informative walk with Dane on one of the few days with no rain in Bergen. Group was small and Dane made every effort to interact with us all. His knowledge of the history of the area was shared with great enthusiasm and interesting stories.
