Minnewater Lake
What does minnewater mean? This is the Dutch name for the lake, which is made up of two Dutch words: minne, which means both "common" and "love", and water, which means "water". Thus, the most correct translation would mean translating the word minne as "common", since these were the "common waters, community waters, everyone's water" since it was where the old port of Bruges was located, a site closely linked to the city and the daily life of its citizens.
The Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde
The beguinage is one of the most representative complexes of Bruges, a prelude to what you will find in this magical city, an environment anchored in the Middle Ages immersed in a sea of tranquility. In addition, it is declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

JK was a great guide for walking part of this experience. Knowledgeable & witty. Boat tour good too. We were let down as there was no record of our booking for beer tasting in Beer Museum and ticket issued to us by Viator was not acceptable to them. Disappointing as this was last evening in Bruges and we have asked for a refund.

This experience was supposed to be a walking tour and boat trip. There was no boat trip as advertised. I was given a partial refund but I did not think it compensated for the missing boat trip which was the main reason I booked this. Very disappointed!

Started nearly half an hour late. Guide didn’t turn up until 10mins after start time. I asked why and was told only after I asked, that there was a ‘problem’. Tour lasted about an hour and ten minutes. It’s a bit misleading as I thought it included a boat trip or beer tasting (which was optional and thought you could choose on the day) but neither of these were included. They were mentioned in passing. For the cost there are much better value guided tours. Save your money and go elsewhere. I cannot recommend.

We purchased the boat trip with beer tasting, when we arrived there was nobody to meet us. We called Viator who told us they cancelled the trip and booked us on a walking tour, but never told us. Due to having a bad leg a walking tour is not possible and the boat trip was a surprise gift. We asked for a refund as we were unable to do the walking tour due to health reasons, plus we paid for a boat tour. The company refused to refund us and have essentially stolen our money and experience. I never write bad reviews but this deserves one,!zero morals or customer service, if you’re looking for a boat tour avoid this one at all costs.

Terrible experience . Tour operator changed location for pick up , bus issues and turned out boats are not running in January end . Viator refused to acknowledge and refund so did tour operator changed location. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth . Nothing short of a scam here. If this is how Viator treats customers who have been booking with them . Doesn’t say much about customer service . Avoid viator and book directly with local operators to confirm what exactly one is getting into .

Peter was an excellent tour guide, very informative, fun, funny & great energy. Brugge is a beautiful city & we enjoyed wandering the streets & learning it's history. Unfortunately, I was informed upon arriving at the meeting point that the boat tour was cancelled, which was the only reason I selected this specific tour, which was very disappointing. I was informed that I would receive a refund but I haven't seen it yet. We were told that we had been booked on to the beer tasting but that was advertised as optional. We were told that the cancellation was due to the canals being frozen but there were other boats operating on the water doing tours.

Our guide Eduardo did an excellent job of explaining the history of Brugge. He was very knowledgeable, pointed out important historical sites and gave personal recommendations of what other areas to visit and restaurants. I highly recommend this tour.

Combination of a walking tour (1.5 hours) and boat ride (30 minutes, at my leisure). Enjoyed the excursion.

A successful and very informative city tour with the guide Eddy. He was able to convey many unknown historical details to us. He had an enormous knowledge of Bruges and you could feel the joy of his work. We have learned a great deal about Bruges and its people. The boat trip through the canals was another highlight of the city tour. This was also accompanied by the boatmaster in German. It was worth taking this tour with a boat trip. We can recommend them without restriction! Thank you, dear Eddy!

Even though it was raining, we still loved the tour. Peter was a great tour guide. He was witty and very knowledgeable. After the walking tour we could do the boat and drinking as it met our schedule which worked out great.
