Uvita Waterfall
After a 1 hour drive we arrive at the Uvita Waterfalls. Here one can enjoy multiple waterfalls with a natural tobaggon water slide. There is cliff jumping available from various heights as well as beautiful pools to swim in.
Playa Ventanas
The Playa Ventanas beach caves are unique and impressive. They are located about 30 minutes from the uvita Waterfalls. These 2 caves are about 500 feet long and walking into them is quite an experience. The cave mouths are wide enough for a large vehicle to drive into, so one does not feel claustrophobic. One can body surf the waves in the caves when the tide is right for it. The beach next to the caves is beautiful and the waves are not to rough. We can spend some time in the ocean or on the beach after we experience the caves.

This was such a fun day! We chose Tropical Adventures because they offer smaller group experiences—and on this day, it was just me and my two boys (13 and 16). Damian, the owner, was our guide, and he made the day truly memorable. We were picked up from our hotel and headed to the first waterfall, which we had entirely to ourselves. As we were leaving, multiple vans were arriving—perfect timing! Next, we stopped at a charming café and outdoor market before heading to the beach and caves. It was high tide, so we couldn’t go into the caves, but that’s nature—something to keep in mind depending on when you visit. The beach itself was a highlight: fun waves, crystal-clear water, and not another soul in sight. Damian, a certified lifeguard, gave me peace of mind, especially since there's no lifeguard on duty at the beach. From there, we visited two more waterfalls—one with a platform to jump from and another you could slide down like a natural waterslide (my personal favorite). So much fun! My 16-year-old even did a 35-40 foot cliff jump with Damian guiding him safely. We wrapped up with a delicious meal at a local “soda” where Damian had pre-ordered for us—super convenient and tasty. He’s originally from the U.S. but has lived in Costa Rica since the '90s, and his knowledge of the area made the whole day even better. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this excursion to anyone visiting the Manuel Antonio/Quepos area. It was a perfect mix of adventure, nature, and local culture!

Damian was our guide, and I am so glad we chose this tour because he catered it to just what we wanted. My boys loved the cliff jumping and Damian made sure they did it safely while allowing them to have as much time as they wanted. He also timed the visit to each place such that it wasn't crowded and we were often the only ones there. Highly recommended!

We did the churro rafting experience and liked it so much that we asked what else was offered and the next day, came along on a half day waterfall and beach caves trip. It was a semi private trip and was a great experience. I would definitely recommend this in Manuel Antonio.

Our experience with Costa Rica Tropical Adventures was amazing and the memories will last a lifetime. Damian was our.personal guide and created a trip to accommodate our specific needs. His hospitality and local knowledge is unmatched and only added to the amazing scenery and adventures we experienced. He timed out trip perfectly to arrive at the beach caves during low tide which enabled us to enjoy them safely. And at the waterfall, his knowledge and concern for our safety was appreciated as we were able to experience the waterfall slide and cliff jumping feeling both safe and adventurous at the same time. Can't wait to return to the area and experience more adventures with Damian and Costa Rica Tropical Adventures in the near future.

My partner and I joined Damien for the waterfalls and beach cave tour. It was such a blast! Being unfamiliar with the area, Damien was able to show us some places off the beaten path from tourist areas. At the waterfall we were one of maybe 3 small groups there total. The whole experience was personal. It was just us Damien and his father (both delightful people to be around) the entire day. Would highly recommend if you’re looking to do something more private and adventurous! Gorgeous views/ swimming spots and we stopped for some great traditional meals along the way.

We did the half day waterfall tour and it was so much fun! We swam in the pools and sat underneath the waterfalls. Damian brought us delicious pineapple and butter cookies and we fed some of the pineapple to the fish, it was so cool to watch them eat it. Since we only did a half day we then added on going to a spice shop and getting some delicious chocolate ice cream. I have taken tours with Damian before, so he ended up taking us to tour some fruit trees as well!!! We stopped at the side of the road when he had spotted some squirrel monkeys too! We got caught in the rain and used some big leaves as umbrellas, it was so much fun. We were laughing the whole day. Damian is so knowledgeable about everything Costa Rica. Highly recommend!!!

Damien took us to some beautiful waterfalls where we could jump and swim. We also went to the caves on a beach to body surf. So much fun! He brought us to some local places for the best coffee, smoothies and seafood! Also had some time for souvenir shopping by the beach. It was a great day!

Our experience was great from start finish. Our guide Damien has the timing just right so we could experience the caves at low tide and the waterfalls with very few other tourist. He was extremely great with my two kids ages 9 and 13. He showed them where they could jump off the waterfalls and Into the pools safely. It was a blast. Our lunch was delicious in town and the excursion was a highlight of our trip.
