Situated in the Avon Valley, York is one of Western Australia’s most picturesque towns with charming architecture. This town was the first inland European settlement in Western Australia, founded back in 1831. Be sure to take a short stroll along the main town strip and see many of the old buildings which are still in use today.
Wildflower Shoppe
If time permits wander through the wildlife park where you can enjoy time seeing kangaroos, emus, wallabies, wombats, koalas, lizards and a wide range of birds. It was a long trip but our driver/guide Roger had lots of information and we had several stops en route to stretch our legs.

Driver good, young enough for long driving. Coach comfort. Good in time control of trip. Points of interest beyond advertised.

I fully recommend this trip. The coach pick up was very prompt and well organised. Chris, our tour guide and driver was extremely knowledgeable on the history of WA and it was very interesting to listen to all his facts during the long drive to our destinations. I enjoyed the historic town of York but found Mulka’s Cave and the Lace Place and Wildlife Park at Wave Rock Cafe very underwhelming and quite rundown. The lunch wasn’t particularly great either being just a small piece of chicken, rice and salad. However, these were just the stop gaps for the ultimate part of the tour, Wave Rock, which is an incredible sight. It’s a bit nerve wracking if you choose to climb to the top as there aren’t hand rails or steps at all sections … you are literally climbing the rock. The view from the top is worthwhile though. The final stop at Hippo Yawn Rock is also impressive. A long day but really worth doing.

Long day of travel covering 700km, but definitely well worth the trip. The differing shades on Wave Rock made for great photos. It’s a must!

Our driver guide ,Brian, was brilliant in giving us lots of interesting information about the various points of interest along the tour on our way to see the main attraction Wave Rock. The dog cemetery, the iron work outdoor museum made by the community of Hyden, the mural in Hyden depicting life in the area,Hippo’s mouth and Mulkas cave to mention just a few.The Wave Rock itself is most impressive.Lunch at the Hyden Hotel was delicious and we received a warm welcome from Sheena the owner. Our tour of their wildlife park was unexpected treat .We only wish that there had been more time to explore the la ce museum and tin soldier exhibition.

It's best to go in the cooler months, there are far less flies. If you can take the time to look through the Lace Muesum, Toy solider Muesum and the Wildlife park it just adds a little extra to the trip. It's definitely worth the travel and out tour guide Bec was truly amazing, she took all kinds of photos from different positions - she definitely made the trip that little bit more enjoyable.

I Enjoyed my trip and Anton, our tour guide, was clearly the man for the job - he loves his work and it shows, made sure that we all had a good time, and was very safe on the road. The tour was well organised and the team communicated clearly regarding pick up locations, etc. The coach was very comfortable. As the only Australian on this tour (I was in Perth for a work trip), it was nice to hear positive feedback from several travellers from around the world. A couple of things to note: it's a long day with a lot of driving. Options to purchase food and snacks will be limited on the way.
