Experience the thrill of whale watching in Tromsø onboard the very comfortable catamaran MS Gabriele. It is also the fastest boat which means we get to the whales faster and can spend more time observing them. The most common species seen around Tromsø are the humpback whale, orca (killer whale), and sometimes the fin whale. Humpback whales are known for their acrobatic displays, often breaching and slapping their tails on the water, while orcas, with their distinctive black-and-white pattern, hunt in packs and are a sight to behold as they glide through the waves. Occasionally, lucky visitors may spot the elusive fin whale, the second-largest animal on Earth. Marvel at the breathtaking beauty of these incredible creatures as they glide through pristine waters. Don’t miss the chance to create memories that will last a lifetime—book your whale safari in Tromsø today. The tour lasts between 6 to 8 hours to ensure we have enough time to find whales any day and time to observe them.

The crew members and the activity itself was good. Great views and decent orca and whale sighting. Crew member checked in on us and helped us out when needed. Do not underestimate the motion sickness bit as it is pretty bumpy when we get closer to the berent sea and several people threw up. This is only a part of the trip and not the whole time. They will give you a heads up. The worst part was, getting on the boat was chaotic. They had people booked on a different cruise whose boat broke down board first. They took all the good seats and the rest of us were left with whatever was there even though we have also paid to be on the boat. Also they changed the boarding location multiple times once they docked and finally there was no line and a bunch of people fighting to get on the boat. I expected better organization and communication.

It was exciting and fun and we met some great people, but the boat was very crowded and some shorter people got stuck behind taller people in the front and were not able to see the whales very well. Couldn't they install some risers with railings on the deck so that people in the back can see over those in the front?

What a day! The weather wasn’t great but they warned us with motion sickness bands or meds as the bumps as we crossed the Barents Sea straight were pretty big! Many other companies cancelled but we are so pleased they didn’t! After travelling about 2 hrs we reached the area and the orcas welcomed us. We saw about 4 pods of beautiful majestic orcas. The humpbacks were more coy only showing us flashes of their tails. Well worth the round-trip!!!

While I appreciate the crew doing their best in looking for the whales. Also being knowledgeable and explaining about whales and such. But considering the price, it’s not worth it. The journey is a bit long and barely see the whales and whale sharks. Also, the boat’s deck is not large enough to cater all of the guests.

Really great trip. The scenery on the way out to Skjervoy is beautiful. Once we arrived, we managed to see approx 10 Humpbacks and a similar number of Orca, who also had a calf! Boat offers few snacks and a decent variety of drinks. Warm and cozy inside, but layer up for when you're on deck because it's freezing! Having seen the reviews of this boat on other sites I had originally avoided it, however had to book as other other trip was cancelled due to bad weather and this is all that was left. I need not have worried as it was great, and I actually think we saw more than the other boats.
