My dear friend,
Honestly I want to inform you about the whale sighting situation in the Mirissa area.
•Blue Whale: 25%
•Fin Whale: 50%
•Spinner Dolphins or Other Dolphins: 80%
•Other Animals: 50%
The reason we don't see whales here (low chance), In the last 5 years some speed boat operators illegally go to Whale Diving & Whale snorkeling. Even though we have informed our Coast Guard and Wildlife Department about this, no action has been taken yet. As a result, many whales have left our sea area.
In this situation, we can only do a nice boat safari. During the tour if you are lucky you can see Whales. We try our best to find them.
*** We stop our boat mid of tour 30 minutes for sea bath ( you have to bring necessary clothes for that)

5.00Don't eat before you go! They keep feeding you. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Boat is clean and we saw whales!

5.00The tour was organised by Whale Watching Club professionally and all the crew was amazing. We were offered tea and coffee straight when we boarded a boat (and seasickness tablets for those who needed). We left the port before all the other boats did, were served breakfast while sailing, and got to see lots of dolphins playing in the sunrise before all the other boats arrived. We were also lucky to see a fin whale pretty close. The Whale Watching Club boat was almost the only one that respected the distance and stayed further away from the whale, not to disturb it (unfortunately it can't be said about some other boats). Finally when the other boats had left, the whale came up right next to our boat! It was impressive seeing so big animal so close. We had a memorable morning and we do recommend the Whale Watching Club to everyone who wishes to have a great experience.
