Windsor Castle
The town of Windsor is best known for its historical links to the British royal family, and it is suitably steeped in pageantry and history. Towering over the rest of the town is Windsor Castle, the ancestral home of the English and later British monarchy, and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King. Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George's Chapel. The Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. If you decide not to include admission to Windsor Castle, you will have free time in Windsor town.
St. George's Chapel

It is both a Royal Peculiar, a church under the direct jurisdiction of the monarch, and the Chapel of the Order of the Garter. Viator is obtaining money through false pretenses. They charged us for 2 attractions that were closed on the day of our tour.

DO NOT buy from Viator EVER!!! They are a total scam. We bought tickets that clearly state that our ticket includes entrance into Windsor Castle but when we get there we are told we have to buy an additional ticket!!! TOTAL SCAM!!

This was very well organized and great if you’re trying to fit a lot of things into 1 day. The tour left each area on time and the guide was very knowledgeable and insightful. If you want to spend more time at any of these locations choose a tour with less stops.

We had such an amazing day thanks to our guide Ana and driver Russell! Ana was super fun, cheerful, and full of interesting information — she really went above and beyond to make the trip special for everyone. Every stop on the route was worth seeing. I just wish we had a little more time to soak in the atmosphere of Oxford, but the schedule makes sense considering how much we covered. The castle was absolutely fantastic! I’m a big fan of castles and palaces, and I’d definitely recommend getting an entrance ticket there. Everything ran perfectly on time — they’re very punctual, so make sure you don’t show up late!
