Windsor Castle
The town of Windsor is best known for its historical links to the British royal family, and it is suitably steeped in pageantry and history. Towering over the rest of the town is Windsor Castle, the ancestral home of the English and later British monarchy, and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King. Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George's Chapel. The Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. If you decide not to include admission to Windsor Castle, you will have free time in Windsor town.
St. George's Chapel
St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in England, is a chapel designed in the high-medieval Gothic style. It is both a Royal Peculiar, a church under the direct jurisdiction of the monarch, and the Chapel of the Order of the Garter. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Phil was an excellent guide who was both entertaining and full of information. It would have been nice to have a little time to explore the town of Windsor but, now we know that we will have to go back!

I cannot say enough about our tour guide, Angela! She was so knowledgeable, very informative and very thoughtful. We had to arrive back at different end point due to massive protests in the city. Angela took the time to see each passenger, ask them where their hotel was and direct them exactly which line to use on the underground. Taking a taxi or Uber would have been too expensive and timely due to the protests. Adam was our motor coach driver and he was excellent as well! We started out by motor coach and headed to Windsor Castle. Angela gave us a walking tour of Windsor as we walked to the castle. The castle was beautiful. We then headed to the town of Oxford and again our extremely knowledge guide walked with us for about 30 minutes telling us about the history of Oxford and about the several colleges we saw. We were then left to explore on our own. Next Stonehenge which we found so interesting. Angela prepared us enroute as to what we would be seeing and then we could use a self guided audio tour when we arrived. It was a wonderful day!

Great way to squeeze in a lot in one day. Plenty of time at each stop to see the sights, have a comfort break, and grab a bite if needed. Anna and Mark did a great job getting us safely around, giving directions to get back to the bus, and explaining the importance of the different sights.

We had high hopes for this tour. It wasn’t until we were on the bus that we found out this was a multi-language tour which our guide didn’t handle well which made it difficult. We got to Oxford and it was confusing as to whether we were supposed to go with her or on our own. We did follow her and then just had a small amount of time to walk around and find some food to take on the bus. It was mandated that the food not be hot because she didn’t want it to smell. When we got to Windsor we only had time to quickly walk through the castle without stopping. Because of the lack of time we did leave 4 people behind. We did have plenty of time at Stonehenge.
