Windsor Castle
The town of Windsor is best known for its historical links to the British royal family, and it is suitably steeped in pageantry and history. Towering over the rest of the town is Windsor Castle, the ancestral home of the English and later British monarchy, and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King. Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George's Chapel. The Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. Many of the works of art are still in the historic settings for which they were first collected or commissioned by the kings and queens who have lived at Windsor.

I booked this tour on a Thursday specifically to see the Changing of the Guard at Windsor Castle, but the guide changed the itinerary and took us to Stonehenge first, so we missed it completely. We then had only about 45 minutes at Windsor Castle, which was barely enough time to visit St. George’s Chapel. There was no opportunity to properly explore the castle, making the admission ticket poor value for money. The tour was advertised as English-speaking, but it turned out to be bilingual (English/French), with a large part of the commentary given in French. I also booked this tour because it was supposed to return to Victoria Station, close to our accommodation. Instead, we were dropped off at Gloucester Road Station, much farther away. To make matters worse, the guide went around the bus collecting tips and implied that a minimum £5 tip per person for the driver was expected. Overall, the entire day felt rushed, and we even returned to London about an hour earlier than scheduled. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the itinerary or expectations advertised when booking.

Too much time on the bus, little time for the key destinations. Oxford was a rush to see things from the outside. Expensive for the experience. I do not recommend it if you want to enjoy more calmly and beyond just taking photos.

This was a fun trip that gets you to three great sites all in one day. The itinerary is a bit intense at times and at times I felt a bit rushed (I would have especially liked a bit more time at Windsor), but it's just a lot to fit into one day, so you can't take too long at any one place. It's still a good way to get the highlights and, if your time in London is short, a very efficient way of seeing all three places. If you have more time to spare, making separate trips to each might make more sense. so that you can enjoy each one more fully,

We had an amazing trip today visiting Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and the beautiful city of Bath, and we want to give special recognition to our tour guide, Jes, and our bus driver, Lucian. Jes was fantastic throughout the day, providing excellent historical knowledge and insight at every stop. His commentary made each destination even more interesting, and his occasional historical humor kept the tour fun, engaging, and entertaining from start to finish. Lucian did an outstanding job driving and ensured we had a smooth, safe, and comfortable ride throughout the trip. He also kept us perfectly on schedule, helping the entire day run efficiently and stress-free. Together, Jes and Lucian made this tour memorable, informative, and enjoyable. We truly appreciated their professionalism and highly recommend this tour team!
