What To Expect

Established since 1850, this is one of the most historical winery's within the Le Marche region of Italy, where to this day, the wines are still produced within the original structure of the historic wine cellar. This is where the tour will begin, where you will be shown around its various purpose built production areas, guided through the history of the founders of the winery and it's villa estate and showns examples of the winerys bottle archive, whilst learning more about the historical wines produced here including those native to the Le Marche region. After the visit within the wine cellar has concluded, you will be invited to head over to a viewing area where you can take in some of the landscape of the winery's vinyards and take an opportunity to walk amongst the grapevines. From here, you will then be taken to the seating area within our historic barrel room or over at the outdoor tasting area overlooking some of the vineyards and provided with a wine selection of three example wines served with a delicious selective platter of local meats and cheeses. The native wines include Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi doc (white wine), Lacrima di Morro d'Alba doc (red wine), Rosso Piceno (red wine), however with 45 hectares of privately owned vinyards, we also offer a variety of other quality still and sparkling wines, grappa, Extra-Vergine Olive Oils, and speciality products which may be alternatively chosen or added to your wine tasting experience.

We tried the tour and tasting of this fascinating winery. Excellent wine and a dreamy atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be the only patrons last night and among the ancient barrels there was the sound of crickets at dusk. Wonderful. Needless to say, we stocked up ahead of the long winter. An extra note for the staff, really kind! Already booked a new tour for late August!

Sorry but what we did was not a tasting!! I come from a region where wine and tastings are the order of the day and I was excited to try products from another area. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a lady who immediately started giving us information about the cellar (we were on the front door!). Then we moved to where they have their tanks, and then what? End. The explanation lasted no more than 10 minutes. They made us sit at the tables (already prepared for another event that would start shortly) and started with the first wine served in a mini cup (not suitable for tasting) and filled almost to the brim. They accompanied it with croutons with oil of their own production (stubby, they looked old). The lady, with a description that is not exhaustive, “explained” the product and, after that, disappeared for a time that I could not define. He then reappears with a colleague to serve us the Second and Third party wine (together!!!), leaves us the chopping board each and some bread (also this old one) and disappears again. If this is the Service that is offered, €30 is an exorbitant amount and money literally wasted. Experience I wouldn't do again. Never again, big disappointment. All this, was pointed out to the lady who “apologized” saying that she is not a sommelier.

We had a unique experience, we showed up a day early so, no problemo . Marlina the wonderful interpreter told us no problem and all the staff said we just need a minute for preparation. Now I am kind of a ringer since I live in Umbria and have celler with over 400 bottles, but when you say you are the oldest in Marche I must find you and we did, fun ride. The best people, we tasted and all for 2 hour Chris the owner was fantastic with stories of the family and generations of wine making . Thank you for the unscheduled private tasting and filling the boot with 6 cases of your delicious wine. When I come back we open the 1974 because we must know what it has become. Kiss, kiss

The Winery is BEAUTIFUL and very charming. However, Viator did not notify the winery of our scheduled tour and, therefore, the hosts were unprepared for our visit However, the owner, a very lovely woman whose name escapes me, did her best to accomodate us and did a lovely job on such short notice and I do not feel we got the full experience. Viator needs to do a better job at their bookings.
