What To Expect
Yala National Park
This is the country’s second largest and most famous National park for locals and foreigners alike. Situated on the south-East coast of Sri Land it has an area of over 375 square miles. It is made up of five blocks of which two are open to visitors. The Ruhuna national Park and the Kumana bird sanctuary.These two parks are most important for conservation . It has a variety of eco systems ranging from moist monsoon forest to scrub jungle, fresh water wetlands ,and saltwater lagoon and marshlands. It is well stocked with a variety of wild life and is an important conservatory for Elephants ,leopards and Birds. It is known as the area with the highest density of leopard population in the world. Visitors can take a safari trip in the park which is an unforgettable experience. Within the park there are ancient monasteries ,which add to the parks attractions.

5.00Fantastic day out! Private transportation arranged on time and no dramas. Got to experience seeing beautiful animals and the lunch we had was my most favourite meal of the holiday...and ive had a lot of nice food! The guys were so good, cant recommend the day enough!

5.00We had an absolutely amazing experience on our private Yala Safari day trip! Everything was perfectly arranged — from the transfer from our place to the park, to the entry fees, and even a lovely lunch — making the whole day completely stress-free. Our guide was fantastic: knowledgeable, friendly, and always making sure we had the best chances to spot wildlife. Thanks to his expertise, we saw elephants, crocodiles, water buffalo, many exotic birds, monkeys! It truly felt like a real adventure, but also safe and comfortable. The jeep was clean and well-maintained, and being on a private tour meant we could go at our own pace, stop for photos, and really soak in the beauty of Yala National Park. Lunch was delicious and a thoughtful touch in the end of the trip. Our transfer driver incredibly friendly and very polite! This safari, from the seamless transfer to the incredible wildlife encounters, was one of the absolute highlights of our visit to Sri Lanka. If you want an unforgettable, well-organized, and personal safari experience, I highly recommend booking this tour!

5.00Trip was excellent, very well organised from start to finish. Janitorial our driver was excellent company for the 3 hour drive to Yala, giving us an insight to Sri Lanka. The trip around the park was excellent company, seeing a leopard and elephants was a treat. The three course lunch was too much, we really only needed a main course! Overall an excellent trip.

5.00This travel company was great, we did a couple of excursions - Yala national park and Sigiriya. Both of them were excellent. It was all private transfers, they always picked us up promptly and had lovely air conditioned cars. The drivers were all lovely and let us decide when we were ready to leave etc. Yala national park excursion was brilliant they took us on our own jeep and it was all very well organised. The prices of all the excursions we went on were really reasonable and they all included a lovely lunch as well. Would definitely recommend them for excursions.

5.00Pick-up from the hotel 4am worked well. Arrived just after 6am for change to jeep with guide. What an amazing guide, high-profile animals who would never have seen for themselves. Moved the jeep for perfect photos. Time flew by. Saw many different animals and birds. Back from safari, a good lunch with good local elements. Then travel back to the hotel, the driver told me very interesting about the area and the country. Can recommend this.

5.00An early morning start, 4am pickup from the hotel. So worth it for a magnificent sunrise in Yala reserve. The jeep itself was part of the fun, some serious off-roading! We were so lucky to see 3 different leopards. The best one we were with no other jeeps around us, saw a leopard go into a bush and waited as the safari guide said he might cross in front of us. Sure enough, he was within metres of us as he ran across our path. Very cool moment. We also saw a mongoose, elephants, lizards, buffalo,vdome stunning birds. We had a great time. To top it off after about 4 hours safari we were taken to Red restaurant for lunch, 3 courses. Best food we had outside of the hotel, stunning Sri Lanka curry -7 dishes, be warned. Trip booked on Viator used agent BMT Sri Lanka. Very professional, giving us information through whatsapp. We had a private driver Dinesh who was like lovely and kept us cool with bottled water and a nice air conditioned car. Tip top trip, a highlight of the holiday.

1.00Hav been on a safari tour to yala, over rated!! Over priced !!!!! If you’re looking to see water buffalo and peacocks and hundreds of safari jeeps tearing around like headless chickens. Then this is the place for you Apparently Udawalawe is 100 x better Don't waste your money on this tourist trap

4.00This was the first time we’ve been on a safari so don’t have anything to compare it with. We had an early start and then we got to the Safari about 6 am. There were lots and lots of other fans and vehicles, it took quite awhile to get into the park. We are very lucky that we saw an elephant at the entrance. It did take awhile to see other animals but we did happen to see Buffalo’s deer,peacocks,crocodile, we saw the leopards laying on the rock although it wasn’t very clear for photos we saw monkeys, monitors. yeah it was an amazing day but very long but well worth the visit if you come to Sri Lanka, it’s a must,
